Perfectly Sized and Fast Setup
This review is for TP-Link Tapo Apple HomeKit Smart Plug Mini, Compact Design, 15A/1800W Max, Super Easy Setup, Works with Siri, Alexa & Google Home, UL Certified, 2.4G Wi-Fi Only, White, Tapo P125(2-Pack). I waited way too long to get this mini smart plug! I had a giant Century timer that used pins to set the timer and it worked fine but it’s just not as convenient and a hassle to set up. Out of the box, it was very easy to set these guys up. I just plugged each into the outlet and opened my Tapo app to add the devices. It took me less than a minute to set up each of them and I was off and running. These devices can also be updated to run the latest software, which is great! I used these smart plugs to schedule grow lights for my monstera and sansevieria plants. They work perfectly. The lights turn on and off when my other Aerogarden lights come on. I can set these to turn on and off using my location for sunset / sunrise or set my own custom schedule. There are so many options in the Tapo app as to how I want to run them. Note: Check to make sure that the electronic device can be left in an “On” state first before purchasing these mini plugs because some devices automatically default to the “Off” state when power is cut off and remain in the “Off” state until manually turned on. These plugs will not automagically fix that issue! I have several grow lights that are always in “Off” state even when power is turned back on and they will stay “Off” until I manually turn them on with their controller or buttons. I cannot use these mini plugs or any type of automatic timer for that matter with those grow lights. Overall, these are really excellent mini smart plugs. They hardly take up any outlet space, unlike my last timer, and they are very easy to set up and operate through the Tapo app. See their video on the product page on how to set up the plugs, if it’s not clear. However, I found it to be very easy and intuitive to set up. I would give these mini smart plugs a 5.0/5.0 - 10/30/2024.

Apple HomeKit presto.
These were an absolute breeze to set up automatically discovered by my Apple HomeKit app and identified correctly. I’ve been using them everything from turning lights on and off to turning music on before I go to bed. Definitely highly recommend. This is a reasonable three pack matter compatible, fast, efficient, and they just work.

You know you can trust TP-Link. These plugs have transformed my home into a smart home effortlessly, and the accompanying app makes everything even better. Setting up the smart plugs was a breeze. The smart plugs work flawlessly with the app, allowing me to control all my devices from one convenient place. Whether I want to turn my lamps on and off or set schedules, everything is just a tap away.

easy to use and works well
The install guide was made for Matter installations, which I don't use. figured out installation without Matter on my own, and thus minus one star.Prosworks as designed, and flawless softwareinstallation was easy and flawless once I figured it outsoftware better designed, organized than competitorscompact size doesn't obstruct second socket on a wallmuch better description of its power rating and limitsConsinstallation for non-Matter applications should be included and can put others off since you have to figure it outIn operation it uses nearly 1W. When off its 0.5W. plugged 24h it consumes at most 8760watts per year, or 8.8kW. It is noticeably warm in operation.

You'll wonder how you survived without these!
Works with Tapo app and Alexa. I use with Alexa. Easy to set up (make sure your device (cell phone on wifi) is within a couple feet for initial set-up. Mine all had firmware updates after set-up. I don't know how I survived without these! We use for plug-in lamps. You can name them, and also put into groups". Use Alexa voice command. Even our 4 year old granddaughter can use these. "ALEXA, DEN LIGHTS OFF". Or, "ALEXA, COUCH LIGHT ON" Absolutely recommended!

Can be Used with the Tapo App Without a Hub
I have some Kasa/Tapo smart outlets and I really like them. I needed some more, but I don't want to buy any more smart devices that don't support matter. I don't yet have a matter hub and was worried that these would be door stops without one. But they work fine with the Tapo app the same as the non-matter versions. And when I do have a matter hub, they'll be ready to go. In my opinion, there's zero reason to buy the older version that doesn't support matter.

Simple to set up and reliable
I have extensive home automation. These plugs were easy to configure and have been very stable in maintaining a connection to the wifi network (using Google Nest Wifi Pro). Unlike other smart plugs I have used, they do not go offline and are quick to respond. The Tapo app is very good and the integration to Google Home is surprisingly solid.I did try to use these with Matter and Google Home without setting up via the Tapo app, but Google Home was not working well. I'm attributing this to a Google issue at this point. Setting it up as a Matter device to Google Home did work well, but the connectivity after configuration did not. Once I set up it in a more traditional way using the Tapo app and Google Home integration, it's been highly stable.
