Instead of putting 2 monitors (27" and 32") separately on this stand, can I use freestanding monitor mount/arm on top of this stand?

The stand is pretty nice but I don't recommend you put all that weight on it. If you need to move the monitor on the mount it will surely not be stable and you could damage your pieces. The way I set it up I have the double monitor arm on the actual table and the monitors are floating over the riser. This way I have space under and over the riser and I make sure the monitor arm is sturdy in place. Hope this helps.

I ordered the white one. But i see that some are all white and other white stands have a tan piece of wood for the middle, why is that?

would it hold two monitors without the middle leg?

You cannot omit the middle leg. It does hold two monitors but the middle leg is the only way the sides come together. You cannot connect both sides without the middle support.
