This is an awesome alternative to nasty prescription or OTC iron drops! It tastes a million times better than any other iron supplement and isn't packed full of artificial junk or alcohol!My baby tested low on iron at her 1 year checkup, and I knew there was no way I would give her the prescription iron drops after I read the label. Prescription drops are disgusting!!! If the artificial additives and preservatives aren't enough of a turnoff, then taste the drops yourself (before giving the drops to your baby), and hopefully you'll reconsider or at least understand why babies hate iron drops and even vomit from taking them. The drops, she was prescribed, were flavored with mint... yah, now there is a flavor babies love (sarcasm). I gave my baby one small taste of the drops and they disgusted her as much as they did me.After trying several brands of iron, I finally found Natural Factors Easy Iron and couldn't be happier. At first, I would crush the tablets and add just a tad bit of water and give them to my baby using a dropper. Then I switched to breaking the tablets into tiny bits and giving them to her to chew. Don't give any baby or tot a whole tablet, as they are big enough to be a choking hazard.Her iron level was in the normal range on the follow-up test! That was over a year ago and her last test was fine too! I still give a partial tablet to my tot, instead of a multi-vitamin with iron, since all the ones with iron taste gross. She doesn't even like the Natural Factors multi with iron (Big Friends), which contains a different type of iron (ferrous fumarate) while the Easy Iron contains SunActive ferric pyrophosphate. Clearly the type of iron makes a big difference in the taste and aftertaste.Easy Iron's peach flavor is mild and the iron aftertaste is nil compared to other brands I and my children have tried. It is sweetened with Xylitol, and even though it is natural, the sweetness is intense. Natural Factors could cut down on the sweetness and it would taste even better! If you don't like peach, you may like the berry flavor of Nature's Plus Chewable Iron instead, which is my second choice.Neither of my kids have ever had stomach upset from Easy Iron, even on an empty stomach. If you have stomach issues with iron, then this is worth a try. I wish I had known about Easy Iron when I was pregnant and had to take extra iron on top of my prenatal vitamin.Getting your iron from food is best, but if you have to supplement (especially for a baby or child) then this is, hands down, the best iron supplement! If you do decide to use this, instead of the disgusting prescription or OTC iron drops, just be sure to ask your pediatrician for the correct dosage of Easy Iron! Some drops list their total mg of ferrous sulfate per serving, which is NOT the same as mg of iron. For example, the drops my baby was prescribed had 75 mg of ferrous sulfate per 0.6 mL, which is equivalent to 15 mg of iron (per the packaging). Her prescription was for 1.2mL (150 mg ferrous sulfate), which equals 30 mg of iron. For 30 mg iron I used 1 1/2 tablets Easy Iron.

We've tried a number of iron supplements for our kids and this is by far our favorite (and the only one they take). Flavor is nice and lemony.We originally ground this up and put it in a little smoothie drink to mask the flavor, but our kids liked it enough on it's own so now we give them the tablet as is. Grinding it was really easy and it ground down to a nice fine powder that was very easy to hide in the drink.

Thank you so much for such a great product. I’m nearing the end of my first bottle (which I wasn’t taking the dosage I needed before) and knowing how deficient I am now and always been, I need to build up my iron. I ordered 10 bottles to help me in the next couple of months to do this!This is a lovely product, I know it works I felt it within a few days. However, I have the sickle cell anemia trait and has never not been deficient. My doctors have never taught me the importance of replenishing my iron and getting my reserves full just to get enough and that’s it. I’ve had my heartbeat race and low back/kidney pain and after research I determined I wasn’t getting enough oxygen and had poor circulation especially when my hands, and feet were always cold. I’ve started a regimen that the Mayo clinic and hemoglobin articles recommends of 2mg-5 mg per day per kilogram.I plan to work my way up to 5mg per day per kilogram in the coming months if necessary as the article said it could take a few months to reverse deficiency and it could take 6mos to a year to replenish your reserves. I may play it safe and just do the 2mg per kilogram per day the entire time as I see a huge difference in just 3 days. Thanks for such a great product! ❤️

The media could not be loaded. I purchased these iron chewables for my kids because of their extreme pickiness. What can I say, I make a lot of food from scratch, and try to get them to eat right, but they are picky in spite of my efforts.My daughter was complaining of being tired. This could be in part her phase in life, and partly due to being "tired" of school. Still, I wanted to see if I could help boost her energy level.I have noticed an improvement in her mood. She seems more energetic and more ready to go in the mornings. I believe this iron is helping to bring her blood iron levels up. I am also giving this to my son, and there have been no side effects. I have taken a few of these as well, because I never like to give anything to my kids that I have not tried myself. None of us have had any stomach aches, constipation, or other ill effects.I also give my kids vitamin C and fish oil, and occasionally a multivitamin. They both said this is the best tasting "vitamin" I give them.So overall, I am quite pleased and believe this is helping my daughter.I paid full price for this item. All opinions are my own.

This is the only iron supplement my daughter will take. She likes the way it tastes!

I've tried a lot and this is the easiest to take, not too sweet, not weird tasting, easy melting, fun! I don't wrinkle my face thinking about taking it. It's good. Will keep buying this as long as they make it. My kid doesn't mind it either.
