Mary of Nazareth: From Nativity to Calvary

I am always grateful to hear the words of the Gospel spoken by someone other than my parish priest. The delivery of the Gospel is so important in order to get the meaning. All actors involved did splendid jobs. (Sad to note that the actor who portrayed Jesus died so young.) In light of the low budget (hence the green screens) it's a pretty good movie. The scenery makes me long to go to the Middle East. I was glad to watch this because I think we are in the midst of the end times or a humungous revival.

On one hand, the actress that plays Mary comes across a bit odd. A little weird, slightly creepy even? Difficult to describe. Her performance, how they have her act, and her mannerisms puzzle me. It's not horrible, and I feel bad saying it, but, I don't know. Maybe it's me. But anyways, yet on the other hand, even with that being said, somehow it still works and it is actually a pretty solid and amazing movie.

I was a little put off very early on when Mary high-fives a passerby. But the film is clearly intended to be respectful and true to the Gospels. The first half has many gorgeous outdoor scenes. The actors are all quite good, though John the Baptist seemed a bit off, until he got angry. The story is necessarily compressed, so you may be disappointed at what is cut. For me, truncating the Lord's Prayer seemed wrong, especially since the presentation of what was quoted was moving.The latter half of the film may disappoint. The nature of what is being portrayed requires a higher budget than they were working with to present as well as the first part of the film. Some of the interior scenes had odd, unnatural lighting. Still, for the age of the film, the visuals hold up very well. Those involved clearly meant well, and what they produced is a fitting and inspirational depiction of the life of the Mother of Our Lord.

I love when mary getting to see her son Jesus on the cross and he says to his mother mary this is your son this love this part as well .

I bought this as a gift for my mother. She went to see the new one at the cinema and the ladies found it to pretty graphic for the older sensibilities. This version hit just right and the whole family enjoyed it on Mother's Day!

I liked the movie for it gave you and insight as to what Mary's life was like. The movie was for enjoyment and education.

Mary of Nazareth (DVD) arrived before it was expected. I took it into the study and played it on my computer because somebody was using the multi-regional DVD recorder in the lounge. It certainly did not disappoint and turned out to be a good film. I would certainly like to show it to any Sunday School Class at my Church.

One of the best film of Jesus'. Other producers need to watch it and learn. This film shows that they are poor not stinking scum bags. There is a difference.

The acting and presentation were so poor that I threw the disk away after viewing it for 30 minutes. The lady represented in this film is revered and venerated by 3.8 billion christians and muslims. Make a por film about her can be excused as innocent enthusiasm.However, I received an e-mail, a few days watching it, inviting me to contact some body if I wasn't satisfied, and to rate the film at five stars. I found this act too offensive for words.

Les rôles de Marie et Joseph joués par des acteurs "illuminés", de la pureté dans les personnages, un très beau film que j'ai regardé avec beaucoup d'émotions. Je ne regrette pas mon choix.
