The Machinist's Bedside Reader: Projects, hints, tips and anecdotes of the trade (The Machinist's Bedside Readers)

The Machinists Bedside Reader is back in print!
I was a little bummed when I realized was only the first reader, instead of a compilation of the three, but even that is better than no reader at all. It is a very readable large-format book. All the photos and drawings are clear and readable. Contrast is perhaps a little low, for me, but that could be my old eyes. Content-wise, it's just a wonderful book! Lots of time and effort-saving hints and tips, plans and drawings, and even the fictional stories have tips and procedures in them! There are also additions and updates that don't appear in earlier editions. The scanned copy I've seen has 206 pages, where this edition has 247. I have not been able to read the whole thing, yet, but everything that I've gotten to read so far has been great! I've got six new projects for my shop an still a bunch of reading to do!

Awesome classic
I bought my first copy of this book when I was in tech school back in the 70's. It's a unique work that I HIGHLY recommend. Long out of print, it's back and you better get a copy while you can. If you're interested in machining, gunsmithing and similar precision pursuits, this book is for you. Don't wait, buy it now. I promise you won't regret it.
