Duncurin has a hobby of making light boxes. The deep red light has been shown to improve one’s vision and delay the effects of ageing. I was very keen to analyse all aspects of these before I exposed my eyes to them! I therefore made sure I had all the equipment needed to test them such as a laser power meters and spectroscopes. Just as important was to make sure that they worked at their optimum and thus I need to make sure that power is accurate and reliable. I thought of using batteries but then realised over time these might deteriorate and the light boxes would operate at a sub-optimal level. I then wondered about a USB power supply but then realised I’d need a voltage step-up to reach the 12v that I wanted. Enter this lovely power supply. It is a nice small unit and it supplies the rock-steady power I need. The leads are of decent length so that I can test and run up my boxes without needing extra leads or being tied to a power socket. I also like the detachable feed in lead from the mains which of course is a standard lead but adds to the reliability and thus the accuracy when I make sure voltage, current and in-line resistors are of the correct value. So, although this is primarily designed as a power supply for computer monitors, it is also perfect for a much wider range of applications - ones that need accurate and reliable power sources of 12v. I was after a 12v power supply for an old style stereo, although billed as a HP monitor charger/power supply it works perfectly with my old stereo. The charger comes in two pieces, as is typical, a Uk plug that slots into a mini power brick. Slotting the cable into the brick requires a bit of an effort and it doesn’t;t feel like a solid fit - like it could easily be jiggled and fall out. other than that, very happy with this charger, no issues with building heat, and I quite enjoy the holographic sticker on it!

I've used this for another monitor brand that required 12v and other items too.All worked just fine (it has a standard 5.1/2.1mm barrel plug) and even powers an Arduino Uno! It certainly seems to have the full 5A available as I managed to drive a huge LED array without it even getting warm.I'm sure an AOC monitor would be powered just fine from it too. 🤷

I mislaid the power pack for a mini-PC so was happy this worked fine as a replacement. The 5.5mm barrel connector seems to be pretty common for 12V input on electronic devices, not just on monitors.Runs cool and both the main lead and 12V cable or a good length. 5A should be ample for intended use.Not a bargain price but seems robust.

Really pleased, I'd lost my power adaptor for my led nail lamp (sunuv lamp, 54W). The voltage matched and the connector looked the same so I hoped for the best, it fits perfectly and the lamp operates as normal.This particular unit is composed of a cable with plug and transformer and then a separate cable section that connects to your device.

This seems to a decently made 12V power supply. So far it has performed well for me, I have no complaints. Recommended.

A replacement 12V power supply that seems to be of good quality.Cables, both AC supply and output are a decent length (forgot to measure and now awkward).Without load it gives 12.2V and in use, powering an old approximately 40W CCTV monitor, it doesn't get hot. Not as warm as the original.

I tried this on a BenQ monitor and it appeared to work fine. Simple packaging too, which means much less waste to recycle. Helpful that the product description has the pin measurements too - that helped match this up. Good product and good price.
