Using on the BAOFENG UV-5R, with 3100mAH bat. This gooseneck antenna feels like and looks to be monolithic, all one piece. It doesn't unscrew into three pieces like many other abbree gooseneck antenna do. The heavy rugged feeling gives me hope, that it will be "almost" grunt proof, for my Marine buddy. (Former Active duty Army, Cavalry Specialist here) As far as signal reception, I'm able to get the NOAA for my region, Loud & Clear, transmitter/repeater is out of Hesperia, I'm in Muskegon. That's almost 30miles as the Crow flies. Outstanding job manufacturer!

I bought this antenna to use with a Baofeng AR152 I bought in the same order. Had been wanting something a bit more powerful than the current radio I had and heard a lot of good things about this radio. I knew that they would give me a standard antenna with it so I wanted to up the game just a bit and get something that could possibly do this as well as be somewhat bendable but not like the slap bracelet style antenna. This antenna works really well as I can pick up the weather channel inside my house wth little to no static as where with my other radio and smaller antenna I have to get closer to a window or go outside to get clear reception. I did some testing with this outside with some airsoft friends and found we can get about 2 miles line of site whereas I can only get a mile with my other radio so the antenna does make a difference. Im sure if you added a signal booster wth this antenna you could get it out even further. Great addition to the radio I have.
