ToPlus came through!
I've been practicing yoga consistently for over 2 months without a mat, and finally decided to reward myself for my commitment by purchasing one. I looked long and hard before choosing this ToPlus mat, and couldn't wait for it to arrive! You can imagine my disappointment when I unrolled it to find smudges of dirt on the bottom (yes, it was sealed in plastic and the cardboard product info wrap). Disheartened, I thought to myself, "Well, it's just the part that touches the floor. It'll be okay."Then I flipped it over. There's a big splotch of dirt halfway down the mat that corresponds with one of ones on the back. I could cry.The mat itself seems like it would be wonderful to use (and it's beautiful), but I'm afraid to put my skin in contact with this mystery substance. Will try to find a way to clean & sanitize it; I'm just so disappointed that this gift I bought brand new for myself came covered in something gross.UPDATE: I found that TPE mats are sensitive to cleaners, so to be safe just used water. The "dirt" came off in the cloth as this dark black substance that smelled strongly like mechanical oil or grease. Sent a message to ToPlus via FB; will update my review when I get a response.UPDATE: ToPlus sent a brand new replacement at no cost, and it arrived in perfect condition; no marks or odd odors - just a beautiful purple yoga mat that will help me find peace and steadiness in my practice. THANK YOU!If you're purchasing one, I suggest making sure it's straight from them and not from another seller.UPDATE (almost) 2 YEARS LATER:As I became more serious with my yoga practice, I ultimately moved to a cork mat for better balance in one-legged standing poses and less slipping during sweaty sessions. However, my good 'ol purple mat still gets used 3-4 times per week during my HIIT workouts, and is holding up just fine.

Good for indoor practice, not so much for outdoor practice
This mat is a good quality mat. It is, for the most part, comfortable, although I’m only giving it four stars because it is quite thinner than most mats and so spending time on my knees on this mat is not the most comfortable way to practice, though it’s also not awful. I’d appreciate a bit more padding for this mat.Generally, I practice outdoors. This mat would likely be better suited to an indoor practice. I can feel all of the rocks and sticks below the mat quite easily, while I tend to notice these things less with thicker mats. Also, being that I practice outdoors so much, this mat gets dirty quite quickly and I’ve found that it is not quite as easy to clean the suede as it is to clean other types of mats. Moreover, my mat has gotten two small grass stains on it from blades of grass stuck to my foot.Again, there are all quite small and inconsequential matters. What do I like about this mat? I like that it is lightweight, that the suede provides a nice grip even when I’m sweating so I don’t slide. I like that the suede doesn’t get overly hot when I practice outdoors in the sunshine which has been an issue I’ve had with other mats. I also like that I don’t have to worry about sweat stains on this mat.Overall, it is a good mat and if I practiced indoors, I would likely give it more stars than this, but as I said before, it’s not particularly well suited to outdoor practice and that is what I typically do. If you practice indoors, especially if you do hot yoga or you sweat a lot, you will likely find this is a good mat for you.

Really like this mat!!
I'm loving this new yoga mat of mine! It's length and width are perfect for my size, and it looks beautiful. It stays in place, doesn't slide around or feel slippery. I've also started using a yoga towel to lay on top of it, partly so I don't dirty the surface as much, and also because my cats are less tempted to scratch at it while I'm using it... lol. I'm really happy with it, and glad it came with the carrying strap too. I think the pink side might get dirty with heavy usage, but I also bought a yoga mat cleaning spray and wipe to try and keep it clean for as long as I can. I tend to step on the purple side, and have the pink on the floor side. Sometimes the ends curl when I first unroll it, but I use my hand weights or yoga blocks to keep them down, which isn't a problem for me. Most mats seem to do that anyway if you keep them rolled up majority of the time. I'm really happy I bought this one!

Smell and grip off
The product still has a slight chemical smell after a month of use and my hands slip in some of the poses. I do appreciate their efforts in making it eco friendly though.

Not a good option for a hot yoga mat
The mat is cute and I love the design, but I would say that this is definitely not suitable for hot yoga, or even for vinyasa. It’s got a more spongy feel to it than anything, and that is good for like joint support during probably a Pilates work out, or just something that you don’t necessarily need to be able to grip your mat very well. If you need a comfortable, soft mat, then this ones for you. If you’re practicing hot yoga or very flowy and dynamic vinyasas that will get you sweating, I’ve found that this mat is not ideal for that. You can’t wipe it down to clean it, there’s some grip; but your hands will still slip if you’re very sweaty, and because it’s foamy, it sheds little particles of the material as you use it more. Also, due to the material, it is difficult to break out of its rolled up shape, and tends to remain into what ever manipulated shape it’s been folded in to, so be mindful of how it looks when you store it. This has just been my personal experience and opinions, and in my mind, it’s still not a bad mat, it’s very spongy and comfortable. It would be great to lay on if you needed support or did like a yin class, or something like that. It just doesn’t fit the purpose for hot yoga.
