A Glorious Return To Form For Percy Jackson
'Son of Neptune' knocks it out of the park. Not only did the most graphic of novels reignite my childhood love of Percy Jackson but- even more impressively, it made me fall for an entirely new universe of demi-god heroes and villains that I scarcely even knew existed. I zoned out of Percy and co after the original series- never clicked with Jason and at was at that 'too old for this crap anyway' age- so my decision to pick this book up was soaked in a tweeny nostalgia. Now I feel like I've been missing out for years. The basic plotline is that Death has lost its hold- and this is NOT a good thing. As Ares explains, "What good is death when you can't win?" 'Neptune' brings the PJ world to life in a way the films never managed. Every Arion moment is especially thrilling, as the lighting horse bolts with such a velocity you feel like he'll fly from the confines of the page at any moment. The premise of PJ losing his memory is smart, allowing the author to reinvent Percy and for fans to realise just why they liked their flowing haired hero so much in the first place. It's simply very cool to watch him defy expectations and blitz the war games, for example. Like knowing a really good secret, sitting back cigar in mouth and just watching the action unfold. If you're thinking about reading- do it. The best complement I can pay is that it stands alone as a superb read having never read the Riordan original. Now- by the gods- I must read another... (less)

Very very bad
It was the worst book I ever read in my life and it’s the one I really don’t know like it’s so bad

I started with this graphic novel adaptation because it was on Kindle Unlimited and I wanted to see how it was. I am a big fan of the Percy Jackson books, despite being a couple of decades older than their target audience, and I was curious how these adaptations would come out. I didn't want to buy one right off the bags I've unfortunately had rather mixed success with reading graphic adaptations of books, as some of them are not that well drawn or don't do the story justice (Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children stands out as a particular disappointment. They could've made that such a fun, colorful GN but nope...). Luckily, this was not one of those. While it is obviously not quite as in depth as the book upon which it is based, it followed the original story pretty closely and it was a lot of fun seeing illustrated representations of my favorite characters. The art was pretty decent, too. I would definitely read more of the graphic novels for the rest of this series. It's been awhile since I read Heroes of Olympus, so this was a fun refresher that I read through in a couple of hours. I'd recommend it to fans who have already finished the books themselves, as this version was a little light on details, so I'm not sure you would get the full impact of the story if you were just reading the GN versions. But I think most fans would enjoy seeing their favorite characters coming to life in this well executed graphic novel.

Só é uma pena que está em inglês. Mas como já li o livro em português, a hq é mais para coleção.

Because I like the way the author writes the series and the different techniques that he uses. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Greek mythology.
