It’s my first time with this kind of product and I felt the price was high for shades of brown markers and crayons, so I bought the cheapest combo pack on Amazon. I’m surprised how well these worked. My experience with this is mainly with cabinets, a dresser, and laminate floors, but here are my real world answers to some questions: Will you see the imperfections if you know where to look? Yes. If you do a good job, will other people be able to find the imperfections even if they stare at it? Maybe, but it can be very difficult to find, at least with darker wood. Will you noticed the imperfections on a normal basis? No.The toughest job was the dresser with the huge bits broken off during a move, but with it at the bottom, I doubt anyone would really notice. The bathroom cabinets had various dings (sorry, Amazon rotated the photos after upload) and that’s the best result for me because I can’t easily find them any more and I definitely don’t notice them like I used to when I’m on the potty. The crayons didn’t do much for the wood furniture, but I had 2 big holes on the floor overlap/transition piece that worked well with the dark crayon + touch-up with a marker. I forget they’re there. No photos on those because I forgot to take a before photo.Note that the markers are permanent. I got a few tiny streaks on tile and it wouldn’t completely come off. It definitely dries fast. Also, if you’re uncertain about the matching, start a little lighter first. The darkness does compound, so if you go with too many strokes, you can get it a shade or two darker. Lastly, bare wood seems to absorb markers best with dabbing. Dabbing with the sharp part of the chisel tip, as opposed to using short strokes, might be the best technique if you have small dings. Not knowing which technique works best is another reason to go with a lighter marker color first.

The pens don’t last long at all. I made a few tiny touch ups on a piece of furniture and when I went to use the pen again (even though it was capped tightly) it had already dried out and the last time I tried to use it, the pen nib also disintegrated. It wasn’t even being used on a rough surface. Don’t buy this terrible product!
