No it is NOT, it is a very good coffee substitute. Boil hot water and a good tasting beverage, does not have the coffee gut nor the caffeine crash.

I know that cevada is the Portuguese word for barley. I do not know all of the ingredients but barley is the main one. Many people drink cevada instead of coffee.

Q: how does it compare to Postum for taste?

Pensal is a nice coffee substitute and would buy again but I prefer the original postum from years ago. The postum I ordered recently was not the same and wouldn’t completely dissolve.
