Be Water, My Friend: The Teachings of Bruce Lee

I’ve always been fascinated by Bruce Lee growing up. This year, I started learning martial arts; thus, decided to learn more about Bruce lee and his philosophy towards life. This book is written by Bruce Lee’s daughter Shannon Lee. Shannon Lee does a great job explaining her father’s core life philosophies and sharing anecdotes from her own personal life embodying the philosophy. Over the course of the book, we discover how being like water allows us to incorporate fluidity and naturalness in life, bringing us closer to our essential flowing nature and our ability to be powerful, self-expressed, and free. This book does a wonderful job in providing insights and showing us ways to live an authentic & a fluid life.

The package was quite better, and quality of pages and cover page is solid

I am really fascinated with some of the philosophical statements given by Bruce Lee, very clear and indepth. The book also has been written very simple and clear manner. Must read book.

Really great read, I really like Shannon Lee and her storytelling, I have a pile of Bruce Lee books, some on Martial Arts and a lot on his philosophies, he has such a amazing outlook on life and I thank Shannon for sharing his philosophies and stories growing up with him

I am a Bruce Lee fan since I am a little child. My older sister was also a fan of Bruce Lee and she liked to be called “Siu Lung” and I didn’t know why until I read this book. Siu Loong means “Little dragon”. I really think that my passion for Bruce Lee began from what she said about him. He was a true legend, a philosopher, a generous and kind man. Shannon described him very well and this is a very interesting story about his life in Hong Kong and California. One of my favorite quotes about him is: “There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.” I am a martial artist and he is a true inspiration in my life. He lived between two worlds “Being Chinese and being American”. I really felt this because I am deaf but I don’t sign, I talk, my family are all hearing but didn’t want to learn sign. In this world, there’s the hard of hearing, the hearing and the deaf/mute. I needed to choose where i identify myself the most and it was always been hard. But what I can say is that I am a human being and I have a place in this world. Bruce Lee preferred to be identified as a human being instead of his difference with others. We all are unique and we deserve to live a life of passion, happiness and peace.
