Q: will it hold a macbook pro 16inch?

Just bought the 2021 M1 Max 16 inch Macbook Pro. Fits perfectly! Not really that snug either, plenty of room.

Q: Does this bag fit a thick gamer laptop 15.6? Does it have cushion on the bottom if you set it down on a hard floor?

The pocket is suspended off the bottom slightly, minimal padding on bottom of bag. I run a 2021 Yoga 6 in this bag, and it is all but lost in the pocket. A large 15" laptop shouldn't be an issue.

Q: Can this bag fit an Ideapad 5 pro-16-inch laptop?

The bottom of the bag is 5 ins wide from the top to the bottom is 15 ins long standing the bag up.If you have a case on it no , if not than yes it will fit
