These sound absolutely amazing
The SoundPEATS Engine 4 earbuds produce good sound for a pair of earbuds at this price point - actually, they sound good even compared to more expensive earbuds. BASS: These have really good bass extension and those looking for good sub-bass will find it in the Engine 4. These don't have a nasty sound-muddying mid-bass hump either. Many other earbuds at this price point will have weird mid-bass bloat that "bleed" into lower mids causing overly warm mids. Luckily, the Engine 4 doesn't exhibit that problem at all; the bass is very clean and does not get in the way of the mids. Now out of the box, these had way too much bass overall for my particular tastes. But that's completely OK for three reasons: [reason #1] You can tone down the bass with the eq in the SoundPEATS app [reason #2] bass QUALITY - clarity and definition - is very solid [reason #3] there may be bassheads out there who may actually enjoy that much bass. MIDS: Are you a B-man, M-man, or T-man? Me - well, I'm an M-man. That is, I'm a mids person. I love natural sounding mids. Too many times ear buds and headphones will have weird 'scooped-out' or 'shouty' or 'overly warm' mids where the lower-mids, mid-mids, and high-mids balance is out of whack. I'm happy to say the Engine 4 - to my ears at least - do not have that problem. The Engine 4 has a very smooth and full mids presentation with just enough energy in the higher mids to keep things interesting. Simply put, the tonality and timbre of the mids in the Engine 4 are just right to me. TREBLE: The treble amount is just right to me. It's not overly veiled or toned down, but it's not overdone and too in your face like you might find in other main-stream ear buds and headphones. Also, quality-wise the treble is smooth with no noticeable sibilance. Overall clarity: The Engine 4 exhibit superb clarity with solid resolution and track separation. That is, these can handle many different sounds going on at the same time, and each different voice, instrument, etc. will sound clear and distinct. Now of course these won't be as detailed and resolving as a pair of 1000-dollar headphones, but you knew that already. Battery life: I'm my experience so far these definitely have had above average battery life compared to other wireless earbuds I've owned. This is especially impressive when you consider the fact that these are super lightweight in your ear. I've owned wireless ear buds costing many more times than the Engine 4, and the Engine 4 sounds as good if not better than those other ear buds. If you're looking for the best possible sounding wireless earbuds for the least possible money, these are most definitely worth a look. And if you want more info, I'd encourage you to check out head-fi . org as well as YT video reviews. There's a lot that other reviewers cover that I haven't covered in my own review. One final note: I believe SoundPEATS or Amazon may possibly have created two different ASINs and thus two different pages for the exact same SoundPEATS Engine4 model. That's why you'll find this page (ASIN B0C5Q9VNCP) along with the other page (ASIN B0C4NNBD9H). Also, this particular product page (B0C5Q9VNCP) is showing that reviewers got a free set - that's also an error on Amazon's part. I purchased these with my own money for $30 - which is yet another indication this product page was made in error; the Engine 4 is supposed to retail at $60. Thank you, SoundPEATS and Amazon, for the accidental(?) discount😆

Great Value, Excellent Sound Quality, Comfortable - 6 Month Ownership Review
This is my second pair of SoundPEATS. I came back to the brand because the first pair (Model: TrueAir2) were awesome for over a year until I put them through my washing machine, which was the end of those! I bought these Air3 Deluxe earbuds as a replacement and so far (6 months later) they have been fantastic. For the low cost I can't see how splurging for 2nd gen Airpods would be worth the extra $$. SOUND QUALITY: They sound great for this style of headphone. If you ever had the corded apple earbuds that used to come with iPhones, these sound at least as good or a little better, which means they are very serviceable for the earbud form factor. I use these for phone calls and never have sound quality or connection issues. FIT AND COMFORT: I choose to wear earbuds as opposed to in-ear headphones because of the comfort. In-ear headphones just make my ears hurt after an hour at best. These fit nicely into my ear and don't wobble around even with moderate movement. They will be more likely to fall out if you're doing something very athletic, so best to choose a different style if you're looking for that. But for everyday life, travel and work these have been great. BATTERY: I get approximately the advertised battery life. With the case I'm never running out of charge. FEATURES: I've had zero issues with connectivity. The touch functions for play/pause and volume control work well but can be a little sensitive and require some getting used to. The auto-pause feature that pauses your music if you remove the earbud from your ear is the only feature that sometimes doesn't work perfectly. Sometimes if I jerk my head it thinks I've removed an earbud and it pauses my music. For that reason I've disabled it using the app just to keep things simple. I like that I have that control. The app is NOT necessary to use the earbuds and I only downloaded it recently to disable this feature. I don't think the app is very good (It's clunky to use and the sound EQ doesn't seem to do much) but I didn't buy these to use the app.

Solid overall with a few issues
These are pretty good for the price. I got these because in-ear earbuds (the rubbery kind that completely plug up your ear canal), which can have higher sound quality, are uncomfortable for me. I knew ahead of time that earbuds shaped like these Soundpeats are more comfortable for me, and sure enough these are quite comfortable. I can wear them for a long time with no issue. The sound quality is solid but not anything to write home about, which is as good as you can hope for with these types of earbuds at this price. They pair easily and quickly with my phone. The battery life isn't great, but they do charge quickly to compensate for that. The controls that let you tap on the earbuds to pause, change volume, etc are nice to have but sometimes miss inputs when you tap them too lightly, so I often just use the controls on my phone instead. The most annoying issue is that after a few months of consistent use, they now occasionally suddenly stop playing music. After a few seconds one ear comes back, and after a few more the other ear does. Not sure why this happens. It's pretty rare but obviously shouldn't happen at all. It's probably happened 3 to 5 times over the last month or two. Edit: Their customer support has been very helpful and gave me a refund because of the issue I was having. Good customer service makes up for issues like these!

Great sound, comfortable, customizable with app
Before the pros, a quick couple "cons" that did not warrant the loss of a star rating in my opinion: There are 2 different Soundpeats apps on the Android/Google Play store and both could identify/connect these headphones and allow some interaction, but only one app would allow EQ setting changes and therefore is the best app version for me! With EQ tweaks to my personal preference, these have a fun, full sound. The other tiny con is that the touch controls are sensitive and personally I kept hitting the button when rearranging my ears/etc. Thankfully the aforementioned app allows you to change the functionality of each type of touch (single, double, triple, long press) or to disable touch overall with a single toggle. Now on to the good stuff! This is the first headphone of this style I've ever had, I've tried on Airpods as a point of comparison but my personal audio collection has IEMs, in other words mostly headphones with rubber inserts for isolation and clarity. To my very pleasant surprise, these Soundpeats Air3 Deluxe HS can still provide a fun sound without cutting my off from the outside world and sounds like IEMs do. In my personal EQ setup, I beefed up the Bass and Treble frequencies a couple notches to accentuate my favorite sound signature, the good-ole "V-shaped" sound which is lively, bassy, but doesn't drown any frequencies out. With this setup saved as my custom EQ, my music listening experience with these headphones is very enjoyable. To be fair, without any EQ changes I would have been 'slightly' disappointed by the bass quantity, only because I find many headphones lack bass and sometimes EQ tuning isn't good enough, but again it ended up working very well with these Air3s! A note about fit: they've been growing on me, I had to try out some angles to get used to the feel of these in my ears, and ultimately I learned that the sweet spot in my ears is lenient and they stay fairly snug while headbanging or walking around. I have not tested Game Mode yet but I greatly appreciate it as an option I may need. Listening to videos was good and I did not notice a delay/desync in Youtube videos while watching someone talk even without Game Mode active. I had a 2 hour phone call and have listened to hours of music without any battery-life concerns. Overall sound clarity is quite nice and I consider myself an amateur audiophile, so you'd think I'd have much to say about the LDAC setting (found in your phone's bluetooth setting when connected to the headphones, not in the Soundpeats apps fyi), but to my ears through Spotify's highest-quality audio stream, there might be a beneficial albeit minimal difference, but it I'll need to test more. What I'll say is that thankfully it won't be necessary to enjoy your music in general, and I've heard that it may use more battery power to use LDAC so I can safely save some juice without it. Like Game Mode, I appreciate that it is available and look forward to using LDAC to enjoy my favorite songs in their greatest detail! In conclusion, these have impressed and provided a new listening method/style (not IEM or over-ear), and I'm happy to add them to my ever-growing audio collection.

Almost perfect
1 year edit: Avoid these. I stopped using them for about a month after I fully charged them and left them on my desk. They are now completely dead. The case can charge and hold a charge but both earbuds have stopped charging. I get maybe 20 seconds of connectivity to any of my paired devices and they simply shut off. I've rested them back to factory, redownloaded the soundpeats app to see if they needed an update but won't stay connected long enough for that to even help. Not even going to bother trying to warranty them as it hasn't been worth the hassle of even using these extremely temperamental earbuds. You can easily find better and cheaper earbuds elsewhere. I do not recommend Soundpeats brand. As a side note, my wife's pair had the same thing happen about 2 months before mine. She had stopped using them as they started to decrease their battery life over time until they stopped working. Neither of us were hard on them. Used them a couple of times a week at most and neither pair were exposed to harsh conditions like being left in a car or subjected to moisture. They just sat on my desk and her night stand. 1 month edit: I figured it out. The soundpeats app is trash. You need it to allow the earbuds touch controls but the app is what is causing the uneven sound. I factory reset the earbuds, deleted the app and the pairing profile on my phone. When I re-paired them, they work just fine. No adjustments, just no touch controls. I'm a perfectly fine with this as touch controls can be really annoying and I usually turned that feature off when using the app anyway. Upgraded my rating to 4 stars since being able to just put them in my ears and pair to my phone without having to fiddle with the app is exactly what I wanted. Ditch the app and use your own devices sound settings. Original review: I want to love these earbuds. I really do. There are issues that I had with these that make them just ok but they could be amazing. I primarily use these with my cell phone. They part easily and set up just fine. The sound quality out of the box is great due to the codex they use for these. There is even an app you can download load to tweak the sound profile. And a built in ear monitor that helps design your sound profile by having you take an ear test. I love their design in that they don't close up your ear canal. I can still hear things around me which is great for spatial awareness. It's really neat, but that's where the fun stops. These have a constant issue with several devices I've paired them with. From my cell phone, wireless Bluetooth dongle used with a PS5, an android tablet and my laptop. Doesn't matter which device, when it pairs, there is not enough sound coming out of the left earbud. It's like it's washed out compared to the right bud. With my cell phone, if I use the app to adjust the sound profile, it suddenly starts working as intended. This happens every time they are turned on and paired. Here is the deal, I bought another pair for my spouse to use, the purple ones. They do the same thing to her. I even tried them on my devices and have the same issue. Considering I haven't seen anyone else complain about this kind of problem, I assume I was just extremely unlucky with both pairs of buds that I bought but I wanted to let others know that if you experience this issue, return them for an exchange or refund. It's not worth the frustration.

Worth the price for the sound quality it can offer
LOL I didn't realize how much I wanted to say about this so if anyone out there thinks my review is helpful for whatever reason, here's a tl;dr • Sound quality is great for the price. The custom sound control (sound equalization) through the app adds another layer to make the listening experience even better • Noise cancellation is ok but I honestly doubt any earbuds (even the airpods lol, I've used them via friend and clearly people just abuse the stigma of airpods noise cancellation in various ways) can have great noise cancellations so I think this is fine • Battery life isn't as great as advertised but it could be just the pair that I got (I have my guess in lower down the review) • Overall very much recommend if you're looking for earbuds with good sound quality that isn't gonna cost you $100+ I always bought one of those "no-name" brand wireless earbuds that has random assortments of letters because I am not an audiophile and didn't want to spend a lot of money on earbuds when I felt like they would all sound the same. I dropped the "no-name" brand I was working with too many times and it got a little awkward where sometimes it wouldn't sit still in the charging case and would automatically turn on when shaken and connect to my phone. As I was looking for a new earbud, SoundPEATS came up as only slightly more expensive than the average price of "no-name" brand earbuds. So after a decent amount of google/reddit searching, I thought I'd give it a try. And man I can't go back anymore. This is the first earbuds that offered any sound equalization for me and it just opened up a completely new world for me. Sound quality was clearly much better than my working pair without any customization as I noticed sounds of drum/keys/bass that I never knew was in the background for the songs I always listened to. Then I downloaded the app to do some custom eq, it literally opened my eyes to a new world where I found out what sound range I liked and what parts of the sound (bass/mid/treble) I wanted to emphasize that made me enjoy the songs more. So in a way this earbuds kind of became my first love and since my standard was a "no-name" brand earbud, it's hard for me to cut praises for it. That said, it's definitely not a perfect earbuds. I am still very skeptical about noise cancellation in earbuds (I think headphones have the size and design capability to do well but earbuds.. meh) and that goes the same here. Not really a crazy amount of noise cancellation but can def hear well in public transport/cafe/gym with decent volume. Battery life for my earbuds don't seem to be as long as advertised but I feel like it might just be me receiving a returned/used (just my guess not actually true lol) cause my left earbuds drains battery faster than the right one. So it's a little annoying at times but usually I don't use my earbuds long enough to drain it so not a big deal. So yea overall definitely recommend for its sound quality and price range (it may very well compete fine against airpods for sound quality when I listened to it through a friend) but may have some drawbacks in some areas.

- Edit - 6 months later Adding an edit note. When they work they are pretty awesome. When they dont work, they are a nightmare. The notes listed below are still very true. 1. They are not noise cancelling. This is not a real knock as they do not claim they are noise cancelling. Its important though. I have to turn these pretty loud when doing anything or out in public. It was disappointing to figure this out for mowing. Losing the rubber seems to be the biggest downside of these earbuds. The previous pair became my airplane headphones and they were amazing. 2. While they feel ok in the ear with the firm plastic verses rubber bud cover. I feel like they don't feel as secure in my ear. When I fall asleep with them, they fall out very easily. When running or exercising. Same issue. Not the end of the world I don't run with music so that's not an issue, a bit concerning while biking. 3. The touch features are an absolute nightmare. When I pull them out it turns up the volume or turns down the volume depending on the earbud. It can fast forward to a different podcast or song or it can skip through the song at an accelerated pace. This is an issue because when I walk the dog I get talked to quite a bit and I have to pull it out. Often this results in skipping huge parts of the podcast or turning it up super loudly. 4. This might be a touch feature or a smart feature, but when I bend over it will pause. This is part of the pull the bud out and its supposed to pause the music. The issue is that it pauses from bending over and sometimes just sitting in my ear. 5. When I open the case to connect to my phone it fails 75% if the time. It was say connected. Wait 30 seconds say disconnected. Wait 30 seconds and connect. This is unfortunately most of the time. It was 30% prior, maybe even 50%, but its way too often now. The sound is good, but not noise cancelling. The battery is good. I have yet to have a de-sync issue between the pair of headsets. As I mention below 90% of the use is one earbud at a time. They feel pretty good in the ear, but are not super comfortable. And honestly they are just too damn smart to be good. I never thought I would prefer less smart technology, but dear god, it can come at a cost. Unfortunately while I love the size and shape of these, I cannot recommend. I have been fighting them since I have started using them, but recently its like I am fighting a losing battle. I hate to give up on them, but honestly probably looking at repeating the T3's. They had flaws and I hated the case size, but they worked until they didnt which was a good time to replace. These feel like they will work forever, but not without a fighting constantly. - End Edit - I have been a soundpeats user since 2019. I needed a cheap pair of bluetooth buds and the price and quality of the True were amazing. I then grabbed two pairs for my wife and two years later I ended up having an issue that was not easily repairable. I typically use one headset at a time and the left side just stopped working. I couldnt get it to pass sound and when it did it was super quiet. I ran the troubleshooting steps, but ultimately just replaced them with the T3s. The T3s were awesome. i hated the case, but the ear buds were great. Noise cancellation was stellar. I took them on the plane and used them instead of my noise cancelling over the ear headphones. The quality was nice and they worked really well. Honestly I will probably end up buying another pair of the T3s before my next plane trip. I have zero complaints of those. Two years later they had the same issue. One side stopped working. Always looking for bigger and better I picked up the Air3. I will be honest when I say I dont love the Air3. The quality is amazing. The tech is amazing, but more than I want or need. I have not spent the time to learn all the little tricks with volume or pausing by touch and stuff like that, and while its impressive, it does cause some issues. For example I will pull my right earbud out to talk to my wife, and when I put it back it, it will turn up the volume. Also there is some kind of feature where if they are not quite in my ear correctly it wont play the music. I do love the pause feature when you remove an ear bud, but I think thats the same feature causing the music to pause if not in my ear correctly. My final complaint is the noise cancelling. Since I dont have the silicone ear bud thing, when I am mowing my lawn, if its not turned way up, I cant hear it. I assume on a plane I will have the same issue. But honestly they are amazing, just maybe too much tech for me and not quite tight enough of a fit to noise cancel. Overall I highly recommend, they are slick, the case feels better in my pocket and the tech is pretty impressive, I just might be too old for some of the new tricks. The price is tough to beat and they are good for about 2 years without issue. Really nice for sure.

Good quality and fit well
Love these buds, they fit well in my ear. They are, however, very sensitive to background noise, so the person on the other end of a call may hear background noise. Sound is great, music sounds wonderful.
