My go to non-pressurised fuel bottle.
I consider these Trangia bottles to be a godsend for liquid fuels and have used them for years. The spout system gives excellent control for pouring and prevents spillages when used with appropriate care. The plastic bottle is strong, thick walled and more than bomb proof enough to go into a bergen or other bag without worrying about it being crushed or punctured. It is a bit unnerving when opening the cap when it is tight and it can feel like it might not be strong enough for the twisting forces. But I have had no issues. Like anything else, just don't force it beyond what it can likely handle. The pouring spouts enable precise pouring into tight fuel reservoirs, like you might find on some stoves or lanterns. While letting the liquid run at just the right pace to fill your stove (or whatever) but still maintaining control. You inevitably end up with a drip or two due to the nature of the system. But this is minor and considerably better than having fuel run down the bottle sides as what often happens with other fuel bottles. The cap has a loop for hanging. To be frank, I would not trust it for hanging a full bottle. However, it is perfect for attaching a small silicone funnel via mini carabiner. Making it quite easy to return unused and cooled fuel to the bottle. The rubber seals keep the contents where it needs to be and I have had no leaks whatsoever. At 500ml, the ones I use can seem a little small for more than a couple of days of camping, but they are slender, so packing a few into a bag is no problem if you feel the need. I like the smaller ones as I find them very versatile whether I'm out for the day or a bit longer. There is always the 1L option if you need it. I have used one for the last twelve years to carry methylated spirit and it has never let me down. I also recently purchased another to carry paraffin and it does just as well with that also.

Solid, leakproof spirit bottle
It's recommended as Duke of Edinburgh kit for a reason. The bottle is well made and solid. It's not too heavy, even when full of spirit fuel. The safety valve is a two stage process. The red knob on top is twistable. Turn it anti-clockwise to open the valve. Then, when you're ready to dispense, simply push the red cap down to release the fuel. When you release the cap, the fuel flow stops. The funnel is bi-directional, so either end will dispense the fuel (the other end then acting as a vent to allow smooth operation). Turn the red cap clockwise to then completely seal the fuel in the bottle. It's a great design. You might get some residual fuel in the funnel causing a little smell, but this will dissipate over time. All in all, a great product, fit for purpose and good value for money.

Great quality item.
Great, no leaks whatsoever. For those claiming that it leaks after pouring. When you remove your finger/thumb from the spring loaded pouring spout simply continue to hold it over your burner until the liquid stops running out. Screw cap towards body to close. Screw cap away from body to open. It's not magic.

Good, but watch out for the spurty spout!
These bottles are a good idea in principle, and definitely designed for use with the Trangia type mini alcohol stoves. The idea is that one unscrews the little round collar on the spout, and then pour the liquid in a controlled flow into the stove by pushing a little trigger (button) on the top. In reality they aren’t as good as the concept promises. For example there are two spouts for convenience, yet if there is a pressure build up in the bottle, when you open the trigger to pour downwards, the alcohol spurts out of the top spout momentarily and soaks your palm. I’ve had this happen on a number of occasions and it’s blimmin annoying! Also the bottle is made of a rather thin, almost see thru plastic material, which I get is to do with lower weight for campers and hikers and whatnot. The material just feels a bit flimsy for the price paid, and the dodgy plastic trigger head contraption doesn’t exactly feel like it’s built to last a lifetime. I actually bought it to be a reserve petrol can to carry on a motorcycle, but it would be painfully slow to empty the whole litre into the tank using the trigger thing, along with the chance of a hand covered in spurted petrol 😕 For this purpose I can’t recommend this bottle, a more sturdy aluminium one with a basic sealed screw down wide neck lid would suit better. I use mine with methanol now when filling little home methanol heaters. The slow flow and trigger control work quite well for this task, I just pump the button once with my hand well clear in case of a pressure release.

Safe, and well made.
Was thinking about buying one for ages, but wasn't sure it was worth it. It is! Sturdy thick plastic, with excellent screw fitting lid. The valve works well too. Mine did squeak for a few uses, but it stopped after a few uses. I got the red, although I liked the greenish colour, I thought I may put it down somewhere, in the undergrowth or long grass, and it blends in, and I walk off without it 🤣 so red for me. £16.00 for a plastic bottle might sound daft, but it's a safe way to carry your biofuels and easy to pour.

Well constructed lightweight fuel bottle
A nice sized, well constructed, fuel storage bottle. Holds 1/2 litre of fuel..an ideal amount for a one/two man short trip, however for longer camping adventures or excessive cooking would not be sufficient. Pros; 1/ lightweight plastic that is rigid and feels really strong. 2/ Clear markings to indicate its contents 3/ Easy pour spout (x2) that prevents any spillage of fluid 4/ A well constructed, no leak, screw lid. 5/ An easy to use open/close mechanism...a rotating collar (screws up or down) that allows or prevents depressing the spring loaded plunger. 6/ A nice size to fit into any number of outer rucksack pockets. Cons; 1/ After dispensing there remains a small amount of fuel within the spouts that must be shaken out before putting the bottle away. 2/ Some may consider expensive for a plastic bottle. 3/ May prove to be too small for longer trips with flamboyant cooking activity. Please refer to photos.

I am a big fan of this fuel bottle, and from my searching, it seems to be the #1 item to store/transport alcohol fuel. It is certainly the professional way to go about backpacking with an alcohol or multi-fuel stove. Depending on the toxicity of the fuel one is using, it is a great item to use to ensure no leaks, because that methanol in denatured alcohol or HEET is some very nasty stuff if ingested or absorbed in the skin. I have been using Everclear for the guaranteed saftey at the bit higher fuel cost... while also allowing for spiked drinks on the trail, hah. Ok, so maybe you aren't convinced from just the safety perspective. This thing should have some great features above and beyond a home-brew bottle/storage solution, right? To that, indeed it does. First and foremost, it is a durable plastic bottle with a reinforcement ring around the neck. The overall weight is lighter than I expected. The screw cap is where the real safety and convenience come into play, though. The cap's threads are sealed via a snug-fitting O-ring, and the release valve is sealed by a spring-loaded rubber contact seal. It is simplicity itself, and well-crafted. To dispense the fuel, simply partway unscrew the plastic nut on top, which will allow some head room to push down on the assembly against the spring and open the contact seal, allowing fuel to flow. One caveat, push on the top button with the bottle upright if fuel is stored, because there will likely be some evaporated fuel under a bit of pressure, which will prevent sputtering when dispensing the fuel. edit: I am embarrassed to say that I forgot this step recently and the earlier hot day built up some pressure that sprayed a fine mist of alcohol up into the air and a bit on my head, fortunately it wasn't methanol Also, one drawback to the system is that if the bottle is held at too high of an angle while dispensing will allow fuel to flow out of both nozzles. I like the simplicity of the two nozzles, allowing one to act as an air inlet, but at the same time I feel it could have been made a little bit more fool-proof by instead having an air inlet with a simple check valve to prevent undesired fuel flow out the top side. Still, being careful to hold a full bottle horizontally, having some common sense, and practice will all make for a spill-free experience. This thing is near-perfect for dispensing small amount of alcohol fuel. Oh, and don't forget to shake a little bit of fuel out of the nozzle and tighten the top nut again in order to press the contact seal snug (not too tight).

My bottle leaked all the fuel, luckily it didn't caught fire in my Camper. There should be a safety to lock the valve!!! I am throwing mine away, it's not safe!
