Revolting, in poor taste and hysterical!
I think everything that can be said about Roald Dahl’s books has been said already. My children grew up with his disgracefully behaved characters. I didn’t buy this book for a child, I bought it for me to recapture childhood and incidentally to read to captive Grandchildren. Age is irrelevant when it comes to Dahl books. They are for the children who love adults behaving badly and for badly behaved adults who are still children at heart.Written with all the joy of a naughty child penning all those thoughts that many of us think but seldom voice, this book is a ‘must’ for the anarchist child and its Peter Pan Parent. Who knew Red Riding Hood was a serial murderer - but it all makes perfect sense now!Delightful, funny, perfect for Parental ‘voices’ for the different characters and a delight for Parents to read to Children!

Fairy tales with no fairies
This is a collection of naughty rhymes, giving an alternative account of familiar nursery rhymes. In these verses, moms are eaten, heads are chopped off, and scullery maids make demands to patient fairies. Each verse balances the on the edge of "inappropriateness" in true Dahl fashion. In the same way that "George's Marvellous Medicine" gave birth to a generation of cough-syrup-addicted sociopaths, this book is fast turning children into fur-coat wearing fashionistas from the upper crust...On a serious note, the text is simple yet challenging enough for KS1 KS2. The plots are rich, with the exception of Goldilocks, which favours critical thought over style, and gives the book a mid-point to balance on. It ends with the same captivating pace that it starts, making it suitable for anytime reading. It should engage adults as well, and here, the medium font makes it easy on the eyes. Some of the italicised font is difficult in low light, but as they say, eyesight is overrated... This book is definitely a keeper, but remember: buy the colour version.

Super divertido
Adaptaciones en verso de cuentos infantiles para personas ya adolescentes o mayores. Muy ingenioso y divertido. Roald Dahl juega con el idioma de forma magistral.

Snowflakes beware.
This was written in a different time and does contain some naughty words and references. When I was 10 years old and read this back in the 1980s I thought it was funny and probably a little emboldened that I could read rude words. Subsequently I went to college, graduated with a science degree and went on to get two Master’s.Now I bought the book for my son because I think he’ll enjoy it as I did, and I have faith that the two ‘rude’ words in this book won’t scar his childhood - mainly because I’m pretty sure he’s not that dumb.Enjoy some great rhyming and wonderful illustrations. A classic!
