Critical Thinking for 4 and 5 Year olds!
"Can we do the big green book!?" - That seems to be all my son asks to do when it is "school time". My son turns 5 later in the year so he wasn't able to go to Kindergarten in August like he has been begging to do. I found this book via the Timberdoodle Curriculum set on Timberdoodle.com, However, the price on Amazon was better. So, we bought it hoping that it would give him something of purpose to do. HE LOVES IT. The book covers various skills and concepts that allow him to stretch his mind. I know with out a doubt, he will be ready for Kindergarten next fall.Skills Covered: Visual Tracking, Visual Consistency, Visual Motor Skills, Spatial Relationships, Auditory Processing, Auditory Memory, Fine Motor Development, Inferential Reasoning/Prediction, Deduction, Identifying Similiarities & Differences, Classifying, Identifying Sequences, Completing Analogies, Creative Problem Solving.Concepts Covered: Colors, Logical Connectives, Lines, Corners, Geometric Shapes, Behind & In-Between, Above & Below, Measurement, Half & Whole, Left & Right, Open and Closed Figures.

A book that has a little bit of everything
My three year old son loves to work through his "special" book. We take this out about once a day to once every other day or sometimes not for a week. We only do a couple of pages at a time to keep his interest. This book contains a little bit of everything that a child between the ages of 3 and 4 can learn. It is divided into sections such as colors, sequencing, geometric shapes, straight/curvy lines, similar and different, can you find me? and the list could go on. It starts out with the easier topic such as colors and progresses to shapes and straigh/curvy lines. My son especially loves to use the pencil to do mazes that happen every so often.I also have a two year old boy that I use the book with as well. Mostly just the intro with the colors. He is too young too really grasp more than the colors and the shapes anyways, but wants to feel included. I do recommend for 3-4 year olds. Depending on what they have been exposed to, this is a great starter to make sure your child is on the right track.

Worth every penny!
My now 4 year old (was 3 when we got this) beggs to do school every day. This book challenged him and helped me see what he needed more help with as well as give him time every day to really use his brain and it taught him so much! I love how it uses simple concepts like identifying straight and curved lines and building off of that so that he can recognize shapes and letters as well as begin drawing actual pictures on his own with shapes and lines! I cannot rave enough about it!

Convenient
It is convenient to have all worksheets in one book. You can get other books for cheaper price total. Other books at higher levels are great. They are better than this one. I used for my kid when she was growing up and I am using it for the second kid. This one was too easy for a 3/4 years old. I usually get a grade higher.

Good, but a bit easy
I got this for my 3 year old son, and he loves it, but it is a bit easy for him. I sat down with him to begin working on it and he did the first 40 pages in one setting. At least he did not get bored by the activities. I am hoping that the book gets more challenging as we progress through it.

An excellent series
I have used this series in homeschooling all my children, for teaching them the basics of logical thinking. They are very well designed books, and also a lot of fun. My kids always look forward to doing the games and puzzles.

Awesome homeschool resource for multiple students
I homeschool a 4 and 6 year old. We worked our way through this book, each student at their own pace. Usually about 10 pages per sitting. We used our fingers to work through mazes and identify objects instead of marking the book with a pencil. A good solid resource for teaching thinking skills. I enjoyed each student rationalizing and sharing with me why they picked one object over another.

Perfect Critical Thinking Introductions
We had been looking for boosters and supplemental materials to help us in boosting the critical thinking skills of both my students and my own kids - this worked wonders. Full color, and allows for easy instruction without a manual. Open discussion is encouraged on each page - a fun family project, and even easy to use for those independent kids too. Wonderful for those early years.
