Two amazing pedals in one! Totally worth it.
For me it is the only discount and overdrive pedal I have now. The BOSS blues driver is awesome and the JHS Angry Charlie is great thick but clear distortion and with both in the same pedal, it’s amazing. You can have each separately or set so you switch between the two or have the BOSS in front of the JHS or vice versa or both in parallel. The knobs are split so the top half is for the JHS and bottom have is for BOSS so you can set separate levels, tone, drive, etc. for each. Extremely versatile and sounds awesome like driven a tube amp. I recommend it completely and it is worth the price, solid build, like all BOSS pedals.

Swiss army knife of guitar pedals!
This is one of those purchases that had me saying "wow" within minutes of using it. Upon receiving this extremely diverse pedal, I plugged it into my Fender Hot Rod 2x12 by way of my Telecaster. First, I played the JHS (Angry Charlie) with less than half distortion, which had a great bite to it and a strong midrange. The JHS is well known for its Marshall JCM styled sound and it definitely delivers. Next, I tried the Boss setting (Blues Driver) and I realized that these pedals were both worth the price tag alone. Next settings were JHS>Boss, Boss>JHS, and Parallel mode- each of which rocked my house in a completely different way. Blasting the distortion on Parallel mode, with my neck pickup on created a purely ROASTED sound- the signal breaking up in an incredible way, much like something you'd hear from Jack White.Using my Gibson Firebird was a great surprise. With the mini-humbuckers a bit hotter than the single coils in my Tele, the signal created more distortion that was easily tweaked independently on the JHS or Boss. I also played my Les Paul with similar results and was blown away by the range of sounds I could get from one pedal. I was even able to get bluesy single-coil tones out of each Gibson guitars, but they DID NOT DISAPPOINT when it came to pure rock 'n' roll. In fact, all three guitars I tried out did not limit themselves to their individual stereotypical sounds, as I was able to channel so much more.I haven't been so excited to start recording some great rock and blues tracks since I got my amp! This purchase does not disappoint. I consider $200 an expensive pedal, but the Angry Charlie alone is $200, and they've absolutely nailed the sound of it. This is like a Swiss army knife of guitar pedals that sounds great and diverse, and I'd recommend it for nearly any genre.

great functionality and functions, versatile.
amazing pedal. the sheer amount of different paths and combinations you can achieve with this pedal really justifies the price. I use the BD-2 side more than the JHS but the JHS is a nice Marshall in a box pedal. Awesome purchase

A genuinely great overdrive pedal.
This pedal is a bit pricey, but there are reasons for it. It's a combination of two pedals from some of my favorite effects makers: JHS and BOSS. Both the Blues Driver and the Angry Charlie are great pedals by themselves, but this combination works even better than having them both on your board. You can run them alone, have them go from BOSS into JHS, JHS into BOSS, or even parallel them (like a side-by-side blend). I like them all. If you are like me and try to keep from having a ridiculously large pedalboard, this pedal helps there too, since it's two pedals in the space of one. The LED changes colors depending on if you are using the Boss (blue), JHS (red) or combined (purple). You can even use the pedal to switch between the BOSS and JHS, instead of clean/overdrive. A ton of uses for this high quality pedal!

Most persnickety adapter input in the history of pedals
The sound from this pedal is great. Don't get me wrong. But I will never be able to include this thing on a board comfortably.I've owned a few other Boss pedals and products over the years. For the most part, I've been happy with them. This thing, however, is the first I've tried to use that absolutely won't play with others adapter-wise. I even tried plugging my one-spot into my Boss tuner - which took it no problem - and then plugged the official Boss daisy chain thing into the tuner to connect it to the Angry Charlie. No dice.If you think you might ever experience a five-minute period of time when you won't be able to have a separate, dedicated, Boss-brand-only power supply hooked up to this, don't buy it.Again, yes, it sounds great. That said, it's bordering on useless since I can't power it with the same stuff that powers all of my other pedals.

A great combo pedal
As someone who appreciates a “two for the price and space of one” - this pedal is a great value. I think the blues driver is spot on, the angry charlie is a similar voicing but given the there is only 1 tone knob you lose some of the flexibility of the angry charlie. The “pairing” of these two pedals is quite nice- they compliment each other really well and the signal chain options built into this pedal are a really nice touch and saves you the time of rearranging your pedal board. I think this would be an ideal first distortion/od pedal (if you don’t go the digital processor route) and will cover a lot of ground. Not to say that that a more experienced player wouldn’t love this pedal, but they might be more familiar with the “boosting” and “signal chain” facets of this pedal so the functions of this pedal might not seem as novel. Great collab between two great pedal companies (boss/Jhs)
