This compact keyboard is a good fit for small kids, especially due to its lightweight design and manageable size. The keys are appropriately sized for children's fingers, and the overall build is simple and functional. One nice feature is the way the music plays continuously when holding a key, rather than playing a single note per press like some other toys. However, there are a few limitations. The toy does not include a volume control, and the default sound level is quite loud, which makes it less ideal for use during quieter times like at night. For parents looking for a more customizable or subtle sound option, this might be something to consider before buying. I made some custom upgrades to improve its usability. I added a 3.7V rechargeable battery along with a charging module, a 3.3V voltage regulator, and a variable resistor to control the volume. These changes allowed me to reduce dependency on disposable batteries and adjust the sound to more comfortable levels. While not necessary for everyone, tinkerers might find it fun to modify.
