Composite wood toilet seat with Chrome Soft Close lift-off Hinges. The cover displays a life-like 3D picture of a Sea Turtle. The image is protected by a layer of high gloss acrylic. This seat is from the 3D Ocean Series Collection by Topseat. Fits most European toilet bowls.

Big, heavy, badly designed hinges are a pain to install and it's expensive, score
Is good quality but is massive compared to other seats I've bought and hits the flush, has to sit so far forward that the thing hangs off the end like a diving boardand leaves a large area of toilet rim showing at the front. Not to mention the cardinal sin of requiring you to hold the seat up the whole time if you are a guy in need of a number 1, even on the furthest forward setting and with the hinge rotated 180 degrees to give maximum angle. I don't know if this is the obese toilet edition or something and I just missed that. The hinges are good quality stainless steel but the top (the bit you actually see) is a cheap plastic cover and it's so badly designed you can't tighten the locking nuts until the seat is pushed all the way down, but you can't get to the locking nuts with the seat pushed down either as they're covered by the plastic cover... Had to make notches in the cover to be able to get the locking nuts with the seat fully inserted. The whole method of attaching the seat to the bowl is the worst I've seen too, they don't use a bolt and washer that goes all the way through, but a friction based wall plug type design. I have never managed to tighten it enough that it doesn't end up working loose after a couple of uses, esp as the hinges are pulled up by the slow close mechanism and the seat is very heavy. In short it's unnecesarily fiddly, (ocasioning impossibility without modification) and doesn't achieve a great end result with a weak attachment to the bowl. Not what you'd expect from a premium priced item.Though there are quality elements it's not a great overall product, especially at this premium price point. The lenticular print of the turtle is also not centred so rather than get a full perspective from the straight ahead position, if you move your head slightly to the left the image jumps, but you can move to the right by quite a way before it jumps. Would have been better if the porthole shape was also 3D though, looks a bit odd seeing a 3D image through a flat one. Fair finishing and image / printing though. Quality paint and rubbers. Will get some normal bolts for it and I think it should be a goer!

Pretty solid
Seems to be good quality, reasonable price, easily put together. My grand daughter waves at the turtle when she goes to the loo, so keeps us both happy!
