The index is comprehensive & rapidly accessible. This book is strongly recommended.

Loaded with information that will give the beginner the confidence to light the torch and get soldering. Some easy projects to get you started, progressing to more challenging pieces, using lots of different techniques and tools.

A good book, but not what I was looking for so i returned it. Very detailed and in depth, perfect for someone more advanced in jewellery making and soldering techniques especially if you are studying at University I'm sure this would be spot on.

This is a lovely book, but maybe a little beyond my current skill set! I am sure however that it will prove a useful reference as my confidence and skills get better.

This is aa very good book for a newcomer or more experienced jewellery maker. There are a lot of good tips it might take a long time to learn by trial and error. Like having a good teacher to turn to.

So glad I bought this book. All you need to know about soldering, full colour photos, & great projects to try. I'm a experienced conventional solderer, but not with a torch, this book gives me the confidence to move on..thank you..

This is an excellent book to improve soldering skills. Very clear and well written information. Lots of helpful advice to assist in achieving the desired results in a piece of work. I am sure I will be referring to this book time after time if I come up against any problems.

I don't quite know what I was expecting - maybe it's a little advanced for someone at the start of the learning curve. Hopefully as I progress it will become more useful and a good reminder of techniques learned in class, as they are clearly set out. However I'm not sure that the designs are sufficiently exiting or interesting to prompt me in wanting to try anything from the book.

Mir gefällt das Buch sehr gut weil es alles gut erklärt und verständlich ist und mir die vorgestellten Schmuckstücke sehr gut gefallen. Ich werde sich einiges davon nacharbeiten. Englischkenntnisse sollte man allerdings haben oder das eine oder andere im Internet nachschlagen wenn man eine Beschreibung nicht ganz versteht. Das ist für mich kein Problem. In Ermangelung von erschwinglichen deutschen Schmuckbüchern finde ich die englischen Bücher sehr gut und es gibt sehr viel Auswahl. Ich kaufe immer über Marktplatz weil ich bisher nur gute Exemplare erhalten habe. Ich würde es empfehlen wenn man das Löten von Schmuck erlernen möchte.

Ik had 2 boeken samen besteld, eindelijk heb ik dit eerste boek ontvangen met maanden vertraging. Boek heeft rondom deuken en krassen, lijkt echt alsof ermee is gegooid. Ik ben nog steeds aan het wachten op het 2de boek.

Although I'll never ascend to the levels of Chanel or Harry Winston in creating jewelry, after working with metals and wire for the past 10 years, I also didn't want to do just "ordinary" soldering and jewelry work either. My goal was and still is to create beautiful jewelry that just a cut above the others--and yes, this is a hobby, I'm never going to be a professional. Enter "The Art of Soldering" by Wing Mun DeVenny, and it's filled that "hole" that has been left by other beginning soldering books. Separated into several sections, Wing Mun covers the basics of solder, flames and torches, and tools, but we also get detailed information on how to begin something I like to call "precision" soldering. Not just putting joints together or slapping one piece of metal onto another, but really working to create, what my husband calls, "jewelry that you would expect in a store." In the second section, the mechanics of soldering is explained. And finally, in the third section, Wing Mun provides great projects that will transform your knowledge, understanding and production to new levels. Of course, no book alone is, in my mind, a substitute for a great class with a good teacher, but this book will certainly direct the average hobbyist toward creating much "higher level" jewelry for presentation to friends, family and customers--if you're so inclined. I would highly recommend this book. I bought it six months ago, and am STILL working through the projects listed in the project section of the book.
