Long process but it effective!
My fathers nutrition doc told him he needed more grain in his diet. Pops has no teeth and he loves pecans. He can't wear dentures because, he has too many tiny bone spurs in his gums. Wearing them, dentures hurt. I went on endless quest on trying to figure out how to grind pecans small enough to fit his requirement that he would like. I tried pecan meal and pecan powder. He didn't like the taste. This has been an expensive experimentation. I tried coffee grinders. Both bladed and burr. Online states that they load up because of the natural oil of the pecans. They have to be roasted. Pops don't like the taste of roasted pecans. I tried a submersible hand grinder and all it did was load up in chunks and make a mess. I finally gave this grater a try. Awesome!! Works!! The particular pecans he likes is the walmart brand. Some come as chopped, halves or whole. I buy the chopped if available. Either way, this grater does the job. I grant you, it works and takes time. Since there is natural oil in them, yes the spinning grater cone loads up. I have to stop and pull it out and clean it out every so often. The motor keeps up and has nice torque but the motor of the outside plastic housing gets hot after about the 4th pecan bag run session. I let it cool down after a bit. Since, he likes the grain a bit smaller. I run it back through to re chop to make them a bit tinier. Pops loves them this way. Either session, you just cant bear down on the plastic feeder pusher. Raise up every few seconds. If not, the pecans load up. This grater is far yet the best that I have used so far because, of how tiny the grating holes are. Pops says that the pecans come out real nice and fluffy and not so hard grainy. Pics show my 1st initial grinding result. 2nd shows it a bit tinier. I highly recommend this if you have patience and willing to do the work. The only con I found is that the little plastic release tab that holds the cone in it's circular groove slot tends to pop out when releasing the cone. No biggie, the tabs snaps right back in.

Great Cheese grater
If you are look for a good cheese grater look no further!!I decided in 2024 I would no longer buy shredded cheese and will shred my own. I first purchased a hand crank shredded that would not stick to the counter so decided on an electric!! This thing makes it incredibly easy to shred cheese in seconds! The hardest part was cutting the cheese right so it fit in the tube, I now use the pushing tool to measure the first chunk of cheese and then use that hunk of cheese for the guide to cut the rest of the cheese. I have use for veggies and works great for that as well!!

This thing is freaking awesome!
I have had this thing for approximately 2 years now and I just realized that I did not do a review. This thing is a staple in my kitchen. I love it! It's a little bit louder than what I thought it would be but I could get past that because it will shred a block of cheese. Nothing flat and I don't scuff up my knuckles and end up bleeding. It's easy to watch and easy to take apart. I would most definitely buy this again but I don't need you because mine is still working after 2 years.

Great for Cheese
I bought this for my wife after watching her struggle with keeping our old, manual crank slicer in place while trying to use. We used it for the first time this weekend and it was well worth it's purchase - made grating a 16oz block of cheese quick and painless.I picked this slicer over the sea of others available on Amazon due to its quality. After a bit of research, the two concerns I found was lack of power and the plastic inserts that hold the blades breaking. Time will tell on the latter, but the insert design has thicker plastic than some others I viewed, so I'm hopeful. As for the power, I have no concerns after using it for the cheese.

Would stuck with everything
I tried this with carrot, onion, and mushrooms. All of them cannot be spliced well. The first time I used some mushrooms, the slicer pushed a little scraps and then nothing. I took the blade cone off and found some fragments were sticked on it. Other mushrooms cannot touch the blade cone, so it didn't work. Then I tried onion, I thought onion is more crisp and not easy to stick. But I'm wrong. The blade cone has the ability to cut anything into a good sticking shape. Similarly, some onion scraps were push out, some were sticked inside the balde cone, and some big fragments are sticked between the blade cone and the plastic tube. After checking I thought it is impossible to cut anything smoothly, and left it there.I nearly forgot it recently, but I saw a video about it, and in which it cuts carrot well! Maybe I should give it another chance. I rooted around some old carrots, washed them, and put into the feeder. I hoped to take a video to record it, but I found I have only 2 hands, one was pressing button, the other was pressing the carrot, and cannot hold up the smartphone. I pressed the button like the example video, it worked! Oh, it was stucked, again!
