does exactly what it should
It keeps the reeds flat and lets the dry. What more could you want? It's well built and will last a lifetime.

Keeps your reeds protected
I bought this for my daughter who has just taken up the clarinet. As with most loan instruments from schools they don't tend to come with the most durable reeds and hers were splitting every week, not helped by the fact that hers had no holder in her case. This keeps the reeds held firmly in place, protecting the thinnest part of the reed, and it means she has spares available if the one in use splits. And with the cost of reeds nowadays, you want them to last as long as possible.

Odd
A well made bit of kit with nubered slots but an odd design flaw. imo. I use a reed guard to protect and rotate reeds. The bed of this reed guard has wide spaced ribs, so that if you put a wet reed in it comes out corrugated. I often moisten a crinkled dried out reed and put it in the reed guard to straighten it. Not with is one. I'll keep it for new reeds only.

Holds the reeds securely
An effective cost efficient product . Holds my alto sax reeds securely and much better than a Vandoren Reed case I originally purchased for three times the price of this Reed guard - which did not hold the reeds securely and which I returned for a refund. I found the D’Addario Reed Guard much better and it is certainly good value for money.

Not strictly necessary
My daughter didn't consider this to be worth having and is happy to just use the container that comes with the reeds for her sax and clarinet. Nice enough item but not being used by my daughter who is quite an obsessive protector of her reeds. Still, if you reallly want one.......

Simple, effective, quality... all that’s needed.
What a great little reed holder. I Immediately housed 4 alto sax reeds in this and they’ve not warped. It keeps them nice and safe in the instrument case and in my pocket as I play so I’ve “back-ups”. I’ve got my ‘player’ in slot 1 and then three others in various states of the breaking in process in slots 2-4 - nicely numbered so I can keep track. Doesn’t keep reeds moist between sessions but then I didn’t want it to - it suits my needs perfectly.
