excellent condition ...needed it for students of English ….it does the job

I was extremely Pleased to see The book on Amazon as I had a keen interest on the book as i had looked and read the contents in a library. But I seriously was not impressed with the postal system As It didn't send the book to me directly I had a note to go and pick a book up at the mayn postal office 5 miles away.

Bought as a ‘joke’ present, for someone who always seems to get idioms wrong - went down very well! Really reasonable price too

2nd edition is better laid out than this 3rd edition, in my opinion.

This is an invaluable resource for writers everywhere. It's compact, descriptive, yet concise at the same time, and a lot of the idioms have their origins succinctly explained. Definitely recommended.

The dictionary as such looks fine but physical condition of book not great. Cover somewhat creased. Annoying as part of a gift.

Great fun to have on the shelf when you need 'that phrase'!
