I like the fact that the freeze dried salmon is just what is says on the package: Ingrients "freeze dried salmon". I use them as a treat, but I call my dog's treats "cookies". He loves them. I also used them when my last cat was alive and she too loved them. Pure Bites is a a decent company, a little pricey, but worth it. They also make freeze dried duck, chicken, lamb if I remember correctly. If you are purchasing for a cat, buy the one for dogs. They are exactly the same except the doggie ones are larger, easy to break apart. One of the best dog and cat treats on the market, especially if you are trying to feed your pet in a healthy way.. ABSOLUTELY no animal by products. And while we're discussing ingredients, wheat is not all that bad for your dog.. Meat by products, on the other hand, just horrible horrible horrible.

My dogs love this. Price is not great. it’s expensive but an excellent product. I use a a treat or a small amount as a topper on their food.

My puppy loves these. They are easy to break up and hide in her snuffle mat and they are stinky enough that she stays interested until she gets every last morsel. I fill one up when I put her in her pen for separation training. She easily goes in on her own - directly to the salmon treats in the snuffle mat and is distracted by it while I close her in and leave the room. It calms her enough that she rarely whines when she’s done eating them and just goes to sleep. The salmon-snuffle mat combo is also perfect for when we sit down for dinner because she’s usually a wild child around that time, but give her a mat filled with salmon and by the time she’s done, she’s calm and reasonable and ready to snuggle.

My dogs love these freeze dried treats! I like that it's a healthy treat to give them during training. They are my go-to for healthy dog treats! The only reason I took off a star on this review is that most of the treats were crushed into teeny bits by the time it got delivered to me. These might need some bubble wrap or something to protect them in transit, especially with other items from Amazon in the box. I can't use most of these treats for training since they are crushed, so I've been sprinkling a little on the dogs' food as a topper so it's not wasted. I would still buy these, but I would drive to PetSmart instead so I don't end up with $10 worth of freeze dried powder.

My Lab, Lucy loves this stuff. I give her this as her “appetizer” before she eats her dog food. She’s been eating this for years and loves it.

My dog likes it okay but my cat LOVES it! There is a lot in the bag. You can tell it is salmon in it.

I realize this is marketed for dogs, but we give it to our cats. I break up the pieces to crumble on their wet food. They loved the flavor and tried various cat plots to get to the bag until it ran out. What I didn't love is that most pieces have a chunk of the salmon skin attached and I could not break it or snap it or pull the skin apart, so I didn't want our cats eating something that hard and sharp. Therefore I had to do a lot of manual disassembly to use them as cat treats. Maybe not an issue for dogs, therefore ymmv.

My dog has many food allergies and is limited to fish and sweet potato only, at this point. This makes it difficult to find treats and food without cooking for her. These treats smell horrible and produce the worst dog farts, BUT she loves them and they are just salmon. No other ingredients, so no allergic reactions. We’ve found the correct amount of treats to be given in a day, to reduce the fart issue. Don’t over do it! She’s happy, we’ll open a window, even in negative temperatures, if necessary. Vet recommended, by the way.

My dog loves salmon. Ideal for snaking or crushing small pieces and adding to dog food to change the taste.

Beware to check the product (dried fish), we've bought them every month for a while, couple of packages were packed with hard dried sharp skins or bones, some of them were quite a large, might be hard on the little ones. Check and inspect them diligently before given! Otherwise, our little Angel loves them :)

The main difference between the cat and the dog salmon bites is the size. The dog size pieces are larger, so I sometimes need to cut the pieces with scissors for my kitty. Also, the dog bites have less dust, but my kitty loves the salmon bits and dust as extra flavouring mixed in to his wet food. Otherwise, I’m simply cost driven.

My cat loves these. I do have to break them in smaller pieces because the skin can be tough and difficult for her to eat. Be careful if you have smaller pets they may choke. Only one ingredient which is always great. It rarely goes on sale though and it’s a bit pricey but worth the buy if you’re okay with splurging a bit.

They smell pretty bad, sure-but that’s what animals love about them. My 13 year old cat, Ralph, has been losing her appetite this past year. It had gotten so bad that she would only lick the gravy from canned food. She was down to 3 lbs. I bought these as a snack for my other cat, and was amazed to find that Ralph loves them! They do have tough to chew salmon skin that I remove- I also cut them into smaller pieces for my cats. Well worth the effort! I must have bought these a dozen times now- and Ralph is back up to 4.5lbs!!
