Q: Is the magnet strong enough to hold screw on the bit?

The small cross point bit really holds a 4 mm by 50 mm steel screw. I imagine the cross point bits may be more reliable than the straight bits in this regard. I have not tried the latter with steel screws.

Q: What is the difference between this and the more expensive 380104??

Both have three flat head bits of size 4.5, 6.5, 8.0. In addition, 380101 has PH1, PH2, PH3, but 380104 has PZ1, PZ2, PZ3.

Q: How wide is it at the hilt (where the handle meets the shaft)? I'm wondering if it will fit in a particular tool pouch.

Across the narrowest part of the hilt it measures 24mm across the widest part of the hilt 27mm across. Hope this helps.
