20 BLUE ANEMONE MR FOKKER CORMS BULBS FOR BORDER PATIO ROCKERY GARDEN PERENNIAL PLANT

I planted these towards the end of December 2016 in time for Spring last year. They were simply packaged in a paper bag and arrived on time. I am an enthusiastic gardener but totally lacking in any skill. I dutifully soaked them overnight, waited until the ground wasn't frozen and popped them into my flower border in the garden, directly into the soil at about two inches deep. There didn't seem to be a particular right way or wrong way up. By April my border was awash with gorgeous purply blue flowers which lasted right through the summer. As soon as the flowers started to fade I pinched them off and this encouraged new flowers to keep on coming. I kept them watered but they didn't strike me as particularly drought sensitive. I am told that these flowers will keep on coming year after year and that they will self generate more plants. A couple of them have even started to flower now, as we have had a mild January (see photograph). I have purchased some more and planted them in a grass bank where I hope they will thrive for many years to come. In my view I don't see why people can't plant these at any time of year. They were well worth the money especially considering the wonderful blooms I have enjoyed.

Only what I expected nothing special about 💡

Only two came up alas, and the colour is stunning but would have enjoyed a few more.

Wasn't sure if I was doing it right when I planted these. Soaked for 24 hours before planting and planted straight into the ground after the last frost. They have grown fairly quickly. I purchased a different color from another seller and planted both together. Both have germinated at roughly the same pace, nearly all corms have germinated. However the blue plants have started to flower first. Absolutely beautiful! Can't wait for more to bloom.

The heading says it all - bought 20 and only 3 have shooted, one of those currently in flower. Looks pretty but was hoping for more of a show. Maybe I planted them at the wrong time of year?Update in mid-Nov: well, in the event about 5 or 6 of them eventually sprouted. Maybe there will be abetter show next year?
