Excellent Basic Model Electric Toothbrush
I have never owned an electric toothbrush, I'm not sure why. A few years back I tried an Oral-B disposable electric toothbrush and was blown away. Over time I started to realise that while the disposable ones were convenient and hygenic, I was frustrated that I was being wasteful. So, I turned to Amazon to see what might be available in a similar style. This Oral-B Advance Power toothbrush is an excellent choice for your money it really is. The unit takes two batteries which are inside a waterproof compartment in the handle, so you don't need a charging dock for it. I can't speak to battery life so far as I've only been using mine for three weeks, but the batteries are still going strong. It has a round head that vibrates, which doesn't look that impressive compared to more expensive and fancy-featured models but once it's inside your mouth you will be surprised at how effective it is. It cleans as well as my previous disposable brush, perhaps better because the smaller head allows you to get right in to the small gaps and awkward spaces. I keep mine next to the sink, and the only thing that I was disappointed by was a lack of protective cap or brush shield. I tend to buy the travel caps and place one of those on it during the day just to keep the brush protected from nasty things like flies or being splashed or dropped. This doesn't come with anything like that, and as it's an awkward shape I had to cut my normal travel case with a knife to make it fit as best I could. If that sort of thing is important to you just beware and prepare something as I did. For the price (under £10) this toothbrush seems to be a really excellent little unit, judging by other reviews people say it's reliable, and replacing the heads is easy. You can opt for branded ones or any of the cheaper generic options out there. I imagine, once this one dies I might consider graduating to a slightly more fancy model, but that doesn't seem to be a pressing concern as this Oral-B toothbrush is sturdy, feels nice in the hand and looks well made and protected from water.

Electric Toothbrush
I think it is good value for money, and it does what is expected of it. It is better than the hand toothbrush and serves my needs. January 2013. Second review in June 2013: I bought Oral B toothbrush in January 2013 and I thought it is quite handy. It served my needs of replacing the manual toothbrush which I had lot of trouble with and lasted just two weeks. When I talked to the GP with my trouble with manual toothbrush he suggested using an electric toothbrush. He even said he uses an electric toothbrush. I explained manual toothbrush lasts only 2 weeks and it will cost me a fortune to replace electric toothbrush. He said I can change the heads. I wasn't happy about that either. Anyway I ordered an Oral B toothbrush and was quite happy with the outcome. The brush head lasted 6 months as the doctor attested. That is amazing I should think. Anyway just nearing 6 months when I had to routinely change the batteries for recharge, the cap of the battery compartment failed to close. This was rather annoying and disappointing, whereas the electrics and the brush head were satisfactory. Update on 17 October 2016 One Major Fault I think this is a lovely utensil except for the commonly cited problem with the battery cap. After few months battery cap fails to shut, and I have to resort to pretty nasty means to continue to use it which is a nightmare.

Aesthetically different.
The toothbrush is fine. But what I received is aesthetically different but works the same. The one I’ve received is called Precision clean however the one listed is Advance Power. It is a different colour with different packaging.

Coffe black to pearly white :D EVERYTHING IS AWESOME !"!!!!!
Am disconcerted upon writing a positive review on Amazon, not my style - v. critical person. My toothcare routine is non-existent ie. Up until receiving this product I didn't brush my teeth (well mayhaps once per month or so). Nhoos so couple a weeks ago my wife threatened a nuclear response to my oral hygiene: I had no choice. I hate the physical act of tooth-brushing, it's so tedious - and pointless 'cause the goddamned coffee/tobacco stains NEVER GO - they just sit there like graffiti no matter how hard I scrub. After I got fired several years ago I quit any threadbare hygene routine (didn't see the point any more) and let go of caring :) which was fine until the most important person in my life expressed 'concerns'. So I got this thing and have been using it now for two weeks, trying to consistently brush once in the morn, once 'pon the eve, and sometimes after a meal or after lots of coffee and smokes. I've also been using dental harps daily. Two weeks from millimeters deep tartar on inside and out, all shrouded in aegis of tar, blackened espresso patina. Srsly guys it's only now in retrospect that I can fess up and admit that my mouth was an awful mess, so much so I rarely smile (for self-consciousness) or open wider than a sigh :) Nhoos sos I set to work, first the harps (complete with toothpick) put to the coalface, to prize and lever wedging off cracking flakes of tartar from lower incisor to upper bi-cuspid, this was cool 'cause I loves to crunch these great sheets of glacial fall betwixt me gnashers I do, yes I do. They crunch like chalk, love it, remind me of silver mints crunching mmm. After each daily scaling with the harp I learned how to use the brush (never had an electric before see) it's v. simple, has two AA batteries, an on/off switch that's it. I would individually polish each with Colgate toothcare whitening stuff on brush, every day, several times a day for like two weeks or so. After five days of polishing, I noticed that I could breathe through my lower incisors again :) Started freaking people out in shops 'n' cafés when I order 'cause I'm constantly sucking in tiny jets of air on to the tip of my tongue - I member this from when I was a kid and the dentist would give my teeth a scaling, how strange and alien these objects in my mouth now felt lol :D So recently I've been inspecting my teeth with a dental mirror and I've missed loads of tartar and staining, set to that like a few days ago, even more carefully using this brush to remove even these issues - and it's working lol. My teeth are so clean now I can't stop tonguing them y'know, I FLURKING LOVE IT :) ::) btw, battery's still as strong as ever. Now I'm off to buy one for herself lol :D P.S. I went to purchase another one for herself 'cause the price is also truly awesome £9, but when I got as far as the confirmation page the price of the entire transaction had spiraled to like 32 euros??!Q! So the sundry charges were more than twice the value of the item itself. I felt this was a bit unfair and suspicious so I backed the helloutathere ASAP. Not sure if I'm going to get the second one here, will probably go to Boots ;)

No need to worry about the battery dying, which was what happened to my previous electric toothbrush which had a fixed rechargeable battery that failed after a couple of years of usage. The only drawback is that the brush heads don't exactly fit with other generic Oral-B ones, but it's manageable.
