Eddie Kasalivich (Keanu Reeves) and Lily Sinclair (Rachel Weisz) are part of a team of scientists who have developed a new energy source. When their lab is sabotaged and their team leader killed, they become prime suspects. They set out to clear their names and find the real culprit, but the man with the key to the solution is a powerful bureaucrat (Morgan Freeman), who may, or may not, be on their side.

Poignant & well made.
Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz both looking very young in this excellent film as scientists suddenly finding themselves caught up in a much larger world than they imagined of intrigue and political dark agendas. As relevant, profound today as when it was made. No doubt most will, sadly, write it off as a quirky conspiracy-theory type story, none-the-less this is the kind of film that needs constantly making to at least try to wake people up to the reality of how politics and the selfish machinations of the power-hungry try to shape what goes on.In the same vein as The China Syndrome and Enemy of the State.Poignant and well made.

Not too taxing
I got this film for something to watch/listen to while doing tedious, mind-numbing work at home. This work isn't difficult but is very time consuming. In order for me to avoid loosing my mind while doing it I like to put on a DVD that has a reasonably good story so that I can pretend that I am relaxing rather than working. There is enough action on the screen to keep me interested if I want to watch it but at the same time is not to hard to follow if I have work to do. I wouldn't be a huge fan of Keanu Reeves but this film suits him perfectly.

A great movie with full of action and great actors
Chain Reaction is a great movie with a great story. Its full of action and great acting especially by Morgan Freeman. The movie is about a secret scientific project about free energy and some really dodgy things going on with conspiricies and even deaths. I wont spoil it for anyone but this is a great movie and you definetly need to watch it. Blu Ray picture quality is great compared to dvd. A great job with the transfer.

Conspiracy film from the usual USA genre of big business protectionism.
Conspiracy film done well.Somewhat dated but it will occupy some of the lockdown moments.Go for it!

Faulty
Bought this dvd as a present for my father-in-law,But he has played it yesterday, and found that after 50 minutes it froze and didn't continue, he tried to clean with a lens cloth , but it still froze at the same point on closer inspection there was scratches on the face. This dvd came in a sealed case with cellophane???

Great action
Action story about scientists being chased b a shadowy government orginisation who are trying to stop the rapid advancment of technology. After discovering a viable cheap power system Keanu reeves is chased by FBI who believe that he is a spy and cop killer. Culminates in secret underground reasearch facility. Great action adventure

Dvd came very quickly in good condition and played well
