Shrek: Forever After - The Final Chapter [Blu-ray]

This film is great it is the way Shrek was in the first two movies. A great blend of action, (cheeky) comedy, and excellent animation. This film has everything I as a fan cried out for after the third movie, which I found very disappointing. I love the grimming of the fairy tale characters, but they still seem to be fun, then you have the main villain who is just evil and you wanted to get his comeuppance.The story. Shrek is not happy!!! The once feared ogre is not a respected/revered to celebrity proportions. He does not like it he think he is not only losing his identity, but everything that makes him an ogre. Enter Rumpelstiltskin the deal maker, with his own axe to grind since the first film. He offers Shrek a day for a day deal, Shrek get to be his old school ogre for a day, but must give up a day of Rumpelstiltskin's choosing. When this day is disastrous for the world Shrek must get his old gang back to together and once again save the kingdom of Far Far away, his family and himself.As a fan of Shrek I enjoyed every bit of this film and was even the music. Lots of fight scenes to keep me interested, slapstick comedy, and a good story and ending to wrap everything up. If you like the first couple of Shrek films get this. It definitely makes up for the third film. Get it and enjoy.

Absolutely brilliant, especially where the eyeballs pop out of Shreks nostrils. I have just turned 68 and spent all last weekend watching all four Shrek films over and over again. Who ever thinks these up has got a fantastic imagination and full credit to the animators.

I should have known that when film makers go to the effort of making a series of movies when it gets to the point that now this sequel movie is not good as the previous then you should stop right there and wait until it comes on TV, that way you save your money buying this. The 1st half hour was too rushed, and i couldn't make sense of it until i watched the 1st part of the movie again. the 1st 2 movies were so good that i couldn't stop laughing, the 3rd one was average and then the last one was the last straw. This and the 3rd part didn't have the x factor of the 1st two and seemed like it was not thought out. there were elements in the 3rd movies that were just not good either and i am happy i didn't buy that. in the 1st two movies there was an element of a serious story line with the hint of fairy tale creatures that made it funny and worthwhile to watch. the 3rd and 4th movies were heavily pushed towards being funny rather than a serious story line and some sections of the movie that were supposed to be funny were just trying too hard to be funny, seemed rushed, not thought through and it didn't work. best to avoid and wait for it to come on TV.

First off if you aren't christmassy or are expecting an extended short added extra within the Shrektacular then don't buy this if it's going to cost you extra. I bought this late so it was only a few pence difference to buying just the film and I love everything christmassy. Fab box set and I love both the discs, should imagine the extras are even better if you have children. Great film and the forth in the Shrek series. Lots of action and giggles for both adults and children, particually for the adults. I have loved the shrek series purely because it does keep you laughing as an adult with 'adult in jokes' which aren't harmful or likely to upset children. This is a very clever franchise that appeals on all levels. A must if you have seen the shrek series and if you haven't you better start watching from the beginning!

This film is way better than Shrek 2 & 3, and is only surpassed by the original film itself.It is a bit of an injustice that film has been overlooked by so many people due to the other sequels, and whilst I would never want to bring down puss, donkey or any of the other characters from these films, the main bad guy in Shrek 4 is really excellent, voiced brilliantly, and animated to sheer perfection. Add to that the story is wholly original as well staying faithful to the genre, this films deservers a much wider audience than it currently has, and it’s funny as hell in lots places too.This copy of the film has the blu ray and dvd as well as all the cool extras, and considering that it cost me 54p you cannot go wrong in buying a copy of this for yourself, as well as for a friend, and for someone else’s birthday.

Another great addition to my DVD film collection, great value for the price paid & a great family entertainment film for all ages & is absolutely fantastic in 3D!!

Product came in wrapped case but disc was in the case lose due to the clips being broken inside! So from it travelling and rolling around lose in the case it came deeply scratched.. It still plays though, thanks god with one shrek mad child!

The film itself is typical of the Shrek movies being very watchable no matter what your age although, in my view, children will probably enjoy watching it more than once (oh all right so maybe I did!). The second disc in this set....oh boy, what a load of tripe. One of the items on it is Shrek lighting a fire and walking off. I thought something was going to happen but after 5 minutes realised that the lit fire was all that WAS going to happen! As for the rest of the twaddle on the disc, well I'm not even going to go there. Stick to the single disc edition and save some money.

Even though this the fourth movie it still has some the original charm that made the first movie so original.Mike myers and Eddie murphy are great as always but lets hope this is the last movie.

It is a fantastic addition to my Shrek collection. I enjoyed the film as it shows that even ogres have a mid-life crisis. Very well done depicting that aspect. I will buy from you again. Thank you Terry

Awesome movie. I could watch that movie 100 times and I would not be tired of it. In 3d it's even better. Not a lot of pop out 3d but it does give the movie a lot of depth and realism.
