Hobby - Star Wars - Boba Fett, Spirits Hobby 1/12 Plastic Model Kit (10941)

Really fun kit. It looks great out of the box, but some painting is required to make it feel better. I used to do a lot of scale models, but my weathering effects and chipping were done with oil based paints. I’ve transitioned to acrylics so it’s a Learning process. I’m happy with it. Here’s a before weathering and after.

This a great snap-together model kit, especially for the value. However, this is not a toy or action figure. You need a set of model building tools and the experience to properly assemble the pieces. This means snipping, trimming, sanding, and fitting. The plastic model is generally colored and has great detail, but you will need to know weathering and distressing skills to more closely get the look. It's totally fine stock, if that's your ability level, but it won't look screen accurate without additional work on your part. The decals & stickers are great, too!

A great kit for the Star Wars fan. A must have if your a model builder

The item is small and constructed from thin plastic, yet it remains in good condition. My 18-year-old grandson was very pleased with it, which is the most important consideration. While I personally felt the cost might have exceeded its value, I acknowledge that this area is outside my expertise.

Got bored and wanted to try my hand and a model plus I love Star Wars. This was really fun to build, I finished it quicker than I thought I was going too. Instructions were super easy to follow and everything fit together pretty well. I had to use a few drops of glue for a few of the small pieces just because I felt like it needed it. Some of the other comments about difficulty are a bit misleading. This was my first model of this type and everything was really straight forward and simple. I would say for me I would rate the difficulty scale a 3 out of 10 Maybe a 4 at tops. Some of the pieces are tiny so I can see how they could be harder to handle for some people. I had a pair for snips already so I didn't need any type of extras tools for the job. If you are looking for something fun in your spare time it's a fun project for sure. Yea you could sand and down the snip edges and add paint if you are willing to put that much detail and time into it. But it's really not that noticeable . Have not got around to applying the decals yet, but looks cool either way! My only complaint is trying to pose the arms and legs with the blaster, I found it a bit difficult but that could just be me.

This was a fantastic model to build and I enjoyed it thoroughly - as expected Bandai delivered in both quality and detail. I will say that if you have not done models in the past, this is not for you. There is a lot of detail work that needs to go into this that really requires you to have experience and a full plastic model tool kit. Lots of fun, but choose a different one if you want something easy.

I gave this to an adult Star Wars fan for Christmas. He had never built a plastic model before. He really enjoyed assembly and is very happy with the final result.

From someone who has assembled a ton of models over the years, but is new to this genre, I would say that some of the comments in this review about difficulty are overstated. I also assembled a Gundam kit at the same time as I purchased this, and most reviews on the Gundam kit said it was entry level. I found the difficulty on both kits to be about the same, a solid 5 on a 10-scale. That's really all I have to say. The kit is awesome in every way.
