Salomon Quicklace Shoelace Kit, compatible with Salomon ski shoes and boots, durable and easy to use

Wow 4 years on and these have stood up to everything that broken ground and building sites can throw at them. The boot soles have torn so I order new boots and I am still using the same Salomon Quick Laces. I tried LockLaces and a cheaper brand for other boots, but found they promise similar performance but are not thin enough to truly release when removing the boots. Original 1 year review: I know these look like they are only for Salomon footwear, but I took a chance and bought them for some workwear steel toe boots. I didn't find the problems others had 'assembling' the mechanism, perhaps it has changed recently, but I found it pretty straightforward to fit them. These are now fitted to a pair of V12 Workboots and work well, a sharp tug on them tightens the lace instantly. It leaves quite a long bit of slack lace that needs to be tucked in to the bottom part of the lacing out of the way. Releasing them is easy and a joy when getting home at night and just wanting rid of the bricks on your feet as quickly as possible in favour of some soft trainers, banishing the feeling of a working day mmmm :)

After watching some YouTube tutorials it was really easy and allowed recovering some speedcross to functioning after I was lazy one day and did not tuck the latch and ripped it off. Now did not want to waste any so now sporting a fashionable dual colour 🫣 (black is the original, red is the replacement). Works like before and could not be happier, only wish they did some more colours/neon.

First thing to say is that Salomon have come up with a brilliant system for tightening and loosening, in my case, walking shoes. You can make adjustments in only a few seconds and the shoe feels tight and secure. I find it good when I just want to loosen the shoe when taking a break from working or walking.The laces seem to be strong, but I bought a spare as I do not know how long they will last and replacements are not readily available in your local supermarket.Why four stars and not five. Although I have not done it myself, replacing the lace is not straightforward in that you need scissors, naked flame (e.g. match, cigarette lighter, gas hob) to seal the ends, and possibly a paper clip to help with threading. In my view, worth looking at Youtube to get the gist of what you have to do before the lace is needed.

They work as described

Purchased these as a lace had snapped on hubbies Salomon trainers, they are too expensive to not just replace the laces, once you have worked out how to do the lace they are quite easy to do, instructions included are useless I googled how to which was much easier

I was really patient when trying to fit these. The ends of the laces kept on fraying really easily. I got so close to completing 1 shoe after half an hour and couldn’t get the male female connection together. Then the slip knot slipped off even though it was really tight.The laces were in the bin in seconds. 30 min of my life I’ll never get back.

All very good up until the last moment. Foiund a video on YouTube which perfectly explained how to fit. All very easy.However the last step is to thread the laces through the male and female parts of the toggle, make a slip know to secure them and then clip the toggle together. However, you cannot make a knot in the lace that is small enough to fit inside the male toggle. The lace is too thick and too stiff - there is no way that this can ever workI had to make a lump of melted lace large enough to stop it slipping through the male toggle. I don't know if it will hold.

Replaced the standard laces on my x ultra 3 mid hiking boots with these having used lock laces on my running shoes.Zero issues, fits perfectly (small amount to trim off), no slipping, easy to micro adjust boot fit as the day goes on, nice and thin laces that have held up over a few 12 mile, 800m climb walks without any problems.Easy to fit / thread, locking mechanism came ready assembled just had to thread through, just scissors and a lighter required.Will be using these on all my boots moving forward.Highly recommend.
