AMI PARTS 3387134 & 3977767 High-Limit Thermostat 3977393 & 3392519 Thermal Fuse Dryer Replacement Part Kit Compatible With Whirlpool & Kenmore Dryers

My Kenmore dryer has 4 heat related switches and protective devices. I only needed one to fix my dryer’s problem. The problem was the dryer did everything but heat. So I knew from experience it was one of four heat switches. It took me 20 minutes to remove the back of the dryer to expose the four switches/overheat protectors. There were only five 1/4” sheet metal screws holding it on. Then I used a multimeter and checked each switch for continuity. {make sure you unplug the power from the wall!!!}. Three of the switches were fine but one showed it had no continuity. I used a 1/4” socket to remove the one screw holding the switch and put in the new heat switch. I double checked the new device to make sure it worked before I put the back together. Then I attached the dryer vent hose and pushed the dryer back in place. It’s been working fine after 20 or so drying cycles. Good luck with your repair. Don’t get discouraged. The dryer looks intimidating to some but it’s actually very easy to troubleshoot and repair. From past experience I know I saved at least $350 and possibly $500. Appliance repairmen will charge you that much even though the part you need only cost less than five bucks.

Fixed no heat issue on Amana cheap big box store dryer.

Parts worked almost exactly two years. Of course once we started discussing a laundry room remodel and getting new appliances once the 2024 holidays are in the rearview, the dryer hears us and decides to quit working. Thankfully took the advice of another reviewer and ordered 2 sets back on November 30, 2022. Put the first in back then and just put the second set in today, November 24, 2024. Will order another just in case so we can keep limping along until we're 100% ready to redo our room. All that being said - totally worth it. An easy, inexpensive fix. Also took the advice of simply replacing all four at the same time rather than keep popping fusing trying to diagnose which one was the problem. Lastly, remember to make sure the heating coils aren't in contact with each other or the housing - checking that is easy and gets overlooked.

Good quality..I changed all of the pieces in my dryer. As soon I checked it everything was working properly…
