Amtech A2160 4.5kg (10lb) Sledge Hammer with Long fibreglass Shaft

Solid tool from Amtech, good value too.

This is in my opinion a well made product, however a 10lb head is perhaps a bit much if one intends to swing it a lot. I'm not intending to swing it at all so it's ok for me. If I intended to use the hammer by swinging it, I think a 7 or 8lb hammer would be sufficient.

People have often told me not to use a sledgehammer to crack a walnut.My doubts have been confirmed, and I can in fact disclose that sledgehammers are very effective against walnuts.

I have used this sledge hammer several times to tackle a wide variety of jobs around the house and garden. It is comfortable to hold and swing without damaging my hands or arms. Well made from top quality materials.
