converse heaven
Not really heaven but it's nice to walk in these and great price too at £38.50. Also the inside lining around the back half of the shoe, so the area where the ankle is, feels slightly padded. Feels cosy.

The Ramones wore 'em
I bought a pair of these back in August 2011, just to see what the posh kids wore. High-tops, navy. They're not bad at all. For the money you get a style icon that you can wear all the time, basically lazy shoes that you put on in the morning and leave on for the rest of the day. They don't get whiffy, 'cause they're lightweight and have little holes in the instep. They weigh nothing and keep your feet cool.Style-wise they fit in basically anywhere. Anywhere worth visiting. They look a bit dorky out of the box - too bright, as if you're wearing a cartoon on your feet - but after six weeks or so they scuff up nicely. Kudos to Converse for putting the logo on the instep, where it's mostly hidden. Size-wise I'm a size ten; I bought size ten; they fit, although for a while they rubbed against my little toes. A small price to pay.The soles take a bit of getting used to, because they're nothing like modern bouncy trainers. They're basically solid rubber - you'd need feet of iron if you tried to play basketball in them - but after a week this becomes completely normal. If I regularly had to walk over broken glass I'd give them a miss, but fortunately I don't.Downsides? The sole isn't very grippy (which surprised me). Wet concrete wasn't much fun. They're unarmoured and of course they're not waterproof, but to be fair they aren't marketed as hiking or football shoesAfter a year of wearing them they started to fall apart, with the rubber peeling away from the canvas towards the toecap. Two years later they're still wearable although I only put them on occasionally. In their defence, they aren't the only brand of trainer that doesn't last. And although they're more expensive than the typical gluey rubbish you can buy from the discount shop in town, they're nowhere near Nike-type expensive. Wear Nike and you attract hooligans; wear Chucks and you attract bassists.

Converse Chucks Red
The Converse Chucks Red are a classic for a reason. They’re stylish, comfortable, and durable, making them a must-have for anyone who loves iconic footwear. Highly recommended for fans of retro yet modern fashion! They fit true to size, but if you prefer a looser fit, you may want to go up half a size. The high-top design offers good ankle support, and the laces allow for easy adjustment.
