Easy to install
Good quality part, works as designed.I purchased this for a natural gas backup generator. The PCV system produces a large amount of moisture. This is due to it spending its life outdoors with wildly fluctuating temperatures and humidity. In addition, water is a byproduct of combustion (more so with NG). Since the PCV system is critical for removing moisture and oil vapor from the crank case, I wanted to retain it as designed. Before adding this catch can, water was being sucked directly into the intake, resulting in random misfires or sudden dips in power. At first I thought there were other problems such as ignition coil, plugs, wires, fuel delivery, governor, valve adjustment, etc. Though process of elimination and accident, I discovered a measurable amount of water (and a little oil) in the PCV hoses. Adding this catch can solved the problem. I end up draining about 3oz of water per month just from weekly self tests, and this catch can (plus integral drain valve) makes it easy.I added a piece of stainless steel scrubbing pad to the bottom of the can to allow more water and oil vapor extra surface area to condense. Works like a charm. In most PCV systems, you want a closed system so that the intake can provide some draw to extract the vapors. Therefore I used the included threaded plug and o-ring on the top of the canister. I do not recommend using the included air filter to allow fresh air exchange. This will interrupt the natural ability for the intake to provide some draw to extract vapor. And may also throw off MAF readings if your engine is thusly equipped or designed for a closed circuit PCV. I also understand that there are exceptions and some open PCV systems may benefit by using the included filter. Be sure to understand how your PCV system works before proceeding.

Works
I'll have to admit I was skeptical at first, but this can worked great. It could hold more volume for my application because I have to empty it after a couple of trips, but it does the job, and you can't beat the price. My 5.3 liter engine wouldn't let me use the breather, but other than that no complaints so far.

Nice little oil catch can
I installed this on my blow by outlet on my diesel boat generator. Works very well, well-made and an excellent price. Make sure you put a little bit of Teflon tape on the drain threads a tight seal. Very happy with it.

Oil catch can review
The media could not be loaded. I just slapped it on my 5.7 hemi and it looks great and I think I got everything tightened enough so far itβs working great Iβm gone see how much mileage I could put on it before seeing if anything will mess up I only have it on there for like two days.. but it looks great in my engine bay ππ

Actually Functional
I'm a full time mechanic on tons of machines every week including high power cars. I was surprised at the weight first of all. The design inside seems like it works: inlet sends oil outward on the case, drips down, only vapors should get through the inner filter easily. The ports actually have enough thread so they don't strip. I like the optional drain and top filter too

Garbage
I ordered this 2 times and both times the fitting would not thread into the can without cross threading. The first one I received was clearly used as it has old oil in it and every thread was gummed up from someone trying to tighten the fitting into crappy threads. Second one I received was literally worse then the first, same issues but this one had broken fitting to go with it. Absolutely Chinese made garbage. Don't waste your time or money.

Oil control solved
Used this on NA diesel, converted to turbo. No crank case pressure control compatible with turbo set up. Used 2 of these, one in valve cover, one on crank case, to eliminate excessive pressures, and vent crank case. Worked great, no oil vapors blowing out anymore, seemed to solve all the problems, been in use for few thousand miles, and working perfectly.
