When Your World Falls Apart: See Past the Pain of the Present

This is another great book by pastor Jeremiah. As someone who is going through a 'bend in the road' in my life since divorce last year (my ex wife had no biblical grounds for divorce after 27 years of marriage!!), this book took me back to the Word of God and to Its promisses and confort. We tend to live as what our eyes see are the only things that exist, but we, through faith in our Redeemer, can see the beauty there is in Him, Who sustains us through the valleys of this world. Beautifully written and biblically sound, this book is a great encouragement to people who are going through tough times in life and for those who are not, it is a great tool to be used by God to help those who are struggling in life. I highly recommend the reading of this book.

This is an incredibly inspirational book in which Dr. Jeremiah and several contemporaries share the calamities they experienced that drove them into deeper relationship with God. It is also a verse by verse study and commentary on several important and relevant Psalms. None of us go through this life unscathed and, sooner or later, we will walk our own bends in the road on our respective journeys. There is help when we walk with the Savior and look to Him for deliverance!

For someone who is going through a life-changing event, the wisdom and encouragement in this book are invaluable. I have given one to someone I felt could use it as much as I have. Dr. Jeremiah writes just like he speaks and it's a very easy, if not heart-wrenching, read. I highly recommend it.

This is a good honest down to earth account when we hit a bend in the road and our world turns upside down. Only through God's sufficiency: trust, faith in God's word can we come out the other side, like our wonderful author and guide did Dr. David Jeremiah.
