Futurama is a great show, and many people (including myself) enjoy it. However, because of the way it was originally aired in North America, and their airing half of a season, then taking a break and then airing the rest of that same season, it becomes difficult to know what season is what. Well, I'm here to help you with that.Season One consists of thirteen episodes.Season Two consists of nineteen episodes.Season Three consists of twenty-two episodes.Season Four consists of eighteen episodes.Season Five is completely missing from the box set ... as that whole season was released as a series of four feature-length movies, specifically: Bender's Big Score, The Beast with a Billion Backs, Bender's Game, and Into the Wild Green Yonder.Season Six consists of twenty-six episodes.Season Seven consists of twenty-six episodes.The box set claims to contain seasons one through eight, but this is incorrect as explained here as season eight is missing from the box due not to any fraud, but because of the way the American network's numbered the episodes as listed here.

Must buy. First few dvds have no "play all" option but you get the options later on.

The Futurama series has found itself stuck in the shadow of its sister program, The Simpsons, for over 15 years and finally gets its own chance to shine. Every season is packed with exceptional animation, vivid imagination and incredible writing. The spectacle of Futurama has not aged, and the work of the production team could never be praised enough. The show is filled with incredible details and subtle humour, with plenty of belly-laugh inducing moments throughout. The endearing characters and masterfully crafted universe(s) they inhabit are a joy to watch, and reaching the end was a moment of sadness, followed by a quick change back to Season 1's first disk, and the story begins again.The box comes with every season split across several discs, with each disc in turn containing menus to view episodes individually, or in groups of approximately 5 per disc. The special features are enormous, and afford a great deal of information into the production of the series in general. The Futurama enthusiast has a lot to look forward to, and the Futurama newcomer has a great deal to catch up on with the acquisition of this treasure trove of tomorrow's comedy.

Seems to be a lot of people who managed to pick this up for £15, so I'm a little gutted to have paid £25. Not too gutted though, as the content is superb. I already have the time first 4 series boxset, so was more than happy to find the extra 4 series. Sadly, the set is missing the Alieneese decoder sheet from the first series, but as with everything in life, there's an app for that.Edit;After seeing similar items online, I feel as though I've been sold a second hand product and been charged the price of a new product. I've since seen this product in several other retailers contained withing a cardboard box, that did not come with my purchase. The lack of the cardboard surround is not a problem for me, as I'm not a collector, but it's very annoying to be charged full price for what is a second hand product, and any collector buying an incomplete item would be very annoyed.

I suspect most people who buy this set will be those who know and love the series already. That's not me! I bought this set based on a recommendation for the series, not having seen a single episode before. I did however know and like The Simpsons and was pleased to find it had things in common in terms of style.I've not watched all the episodes as yet, but of those I've seen I've found them funny and clever. I particularly like the way bits of science/sci-fi references are casually dropped in.As for the box, yes: it was a little difficult get the tab of the outer box open the first time. Once the plastic inner case was revealed there was no further problem.This is a brilliant series and at less than 40p/episode is really good value.

I shan’t review the show as this is done elsewhere, and the likelihood of someone buying all 8 seasons of something they haven’t seen before is very low.The box is nice and sleek for a set like this; glad it isn’t a mound of flimsy cardboard and superfluous season slipcases, though it would have been nice if a booklet episode guide was included, rather than simply presenting the episode names on the inside cover. I never understand why they do that; episode synopses are useful if you stop watching for a while, but if all you have are the episode names then you need to consult something else to find out what actually happens. The artwork is very good and minimalistic. It would have been nice for this to carry over to the disc design, however they are as originally released - artwork, menus and all - which means many are still annoyingly missing a ‘play all’ feature.This is probably the cheapest way they could have released this show, literally repackaging old stock into one big box. It’s standard practice I know, but it makes the thing feel unloved. Remaster the picture quality, make it all widescreen, at least change the damn disc artwork and menus to match the outer packaging, do SOMETHING with it at least.

This collection is truly a necessity for any fan of this series. The lack of the 4 Futurama movies from the collection doesn't really change the fact that it's the complete collection of the show and if you do want the movies, there is another collection available containing all 4 movies.

The box set was exactly as listed and arrived exactly as indicated. Box set came in a box with holders for each DVD.

Forse non è per appassionati di edizioni DVD con contenuti extra e gadget, ma per i miei gusti è perfetto: un cofanetto di plastica trasparente molto leggero che contiene tutto il ciclo. Non crea problemi neanche il fatto che non tutte le stagioni siano doppiate in italiano, perché ad un certo punto i doppiatori italiani sono cambiati e le nuove voci le trovo insopportabili!
