BLACK+DECKER BDL120 Manual Laser Level

Excellent product! I work in a DIY shop and have been trying out the home project laser levels and this one is by far the best the light is bright, straight and is easy to see with no breaks and projects perfectly. Well worth the money if you need for home DIY rather than several hundred pounds on a self levelling professional one.

I had a few things around the house resembling the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I am not great at DIY and even with a spirit level I often manage to miss a straight line.Although this is not one of those fancy self levelling few hundred quid laser levels it does the job brilliantly. If you need it for casual stuff around the house I highly recommend having one in your tool box. The price is great and it really helps keeping things straight. The only downside I would mention is the limited fixing options.

This does what it is supposed to do. It's easy to use, the laser is clearly visible even in bright rooms and the pin for securing into plasterboard walls is a good feature.It's not professional quality but at this price, it's not supposed to be. A good tool for home DIYers.

Does exactly what it says on the box! Excellent addition to any tool box. My husband is partially sighted (lost an eye) so for him putting up shelves or “looking for a level” in any DIY task is a complete nightmare! My home is quite amusing as my curtain rods, rails, shelves, are all “in the wonk” our friends do laugh with us! However, humour growing a bit thin now on all fronts when he was asked to hang my new gold velvet curtains!!! NOW using this wonderful piece of equipment they hang PERFECTLY!

Build quality: Poor, moulded plastic is not well finished and the battery cover falls off as you try to put in the batteries. Though not normally a major problem, if you're using it to do a bit of DIY it becomes really annoying looking for it amongst all the tools, rubble, etc.Laser: Very bright, good clear straight line at about 8 metres.Good given the price.Spirit level: the level chambers are very small. When the laser is not on you can get it the bubble in the middle of the chamber. However, when the laser is on it is so bright, it can be very challenging to see where the bubble is in relation to the level lines.Mounting: 2 very good mounting options. First with an adapter for fitting over a screw in the wall. The other with a retractable pin / nail ( for plaster board, I think)The level then attaches via magnets onto mount.The only problem here is that it only has one flat side. So can't be plced on its side for lines that are perpendicular to the straight axis of the level. Very odd.Overall: bright laser, let down by build quality, curbed edges only give one flat side and inability to read laser level accurately.

Needed this to help paint a straight line on the wall easy to use and small to store away also comes in handy wen hanging photos

This fails spectacularly at every level (and yeah, it fails as a level too!)First up, the plastic moulding is awful - I've seen better quality out of a Xmas cracker. I could forgive that if it worked - but it doesn't.The battery door is woefully designed and the battery contacts are inadequate; the laser line is faint and not very visible.But the biggest downful is that there is no way on earth this could ever give you an indication of 'level' ...The bubble indicators are purely cosmetic, they simply do not work. Place the unit on a flat surface and it'll indicate a tilt to the right - rotate it 180 degrees and the tilt direction moves with it ;-]The base doesn't sit flat anyway, and both supplied magnetic bases rock around so much it's totally random where the 'level' will be.Utter crap - please avoid, it's worse than a waste of money & time.Appaling.

Easy to use and seems accurate . Just moved house and needed this to help get several new curtain poles level and it did .
