Good book!
This book is for professionals, it might confuse those who want to learn basic Arabic, like how to write "apple", "monkey" or "blue". It goes right into core grammar of the language. Depending on what pace you study it at, which in my university is very intense, one has to work with it daily. This shouldn't discourage those who want to learn Arabic, because it's excellent if you have access to the website as well, which includes a range of drills.Recommended to every one.

It helps my Arabic
Excellent book!!!!!!!!!!! Very helpful for my Arabic lessons at University, by the way, if you're studying Arabic I would recommend buying the book rather than borrowing it for a semester. Also, for a beginner, it is a very heavy book.

Study the companion book first ...
This book can help you learn Arabic provided you have first studied its companion book 'English Grammar for Students of Arabic' by Ernest N McCarus.

Companion site no longer available
No-one should still be buying this book. The exercises on the companion website are no longer available, and form a substantial part of the course.
