Powerful and Versatile Cooling Solution – Ideal for DIY Projects and Temperature Control!
The ALAMSCN 3 Sets TEC1-12706 Semiconductor Refrigeration Thermoelectric Coolers are an excellent choice for anyone looking to achieve effective cooling and temperature control in compact spaces. These Peltier modules, designed for 12V, 6A operation, offer a flexible cooling solution perfect for DIY projects, small refrigeration systems, or custom cooling needs. Here’s why this set of Peltier coolers has been a game-changer for my projects.Efficient Cooling Power with TEC1-12706 ModulesEach TEC1-12706 Peltier module delivers 60W of cooling power, providing ample cooling capacity for small-scale applications. I’ve used these modules in custom cooling boxes and small fridges, and they keep temperatures low and stable even in ambient room conditions. Having three modules in the set allows for more extensive projects or the ability to replace modules as needed.Reliable Dual-Sided Cooling and HeatingThe Peltier modules offer dual-sided functionality, cooling on one side and heating on the other, making them versatile for projects that require precise temperature management. This feature is ideal for creating temperature-controlled environments, as you can leverage both heating and cooling capabilities for a balanced effect. It’s a useful design, especially for experiments, custom electronics, or hobbyist refrigeration.Easy Integration with Heatsinks for Maximum EfficiencyThe TEC1-12706 modules work best when paired with heatsinks, which help dissipate the heat from the hot side for more efficient cooling on the cold side. I paired mine with aluminum heatsinks and a small fan for active cooling, and the performance boost was noticeable. The modules are easy to attach to various heatsinks, allowing for customized cooling solutions depending on the project requirements.Compact and Ideal for DIY and Experimental ApplicationsWith each module measuring 40mm x 40mm, they’re compact and perfect for space-constrained setups. The small size makes them suitable for a range of DIY applications, from small refrigeration units and beverage coolers to specialized cooling for electronics or CPUs. They’re easy to install and adapt to different setups, making them highly accessible for DIYers and experimenters alike.Low Power Consumption for Continuous UseRunning on a 12V, 6A power source, these modules are energy-efficient while delivering solid performance. They’re suitable for continuous use without draining power excessively, making them ideal for setups that need round-the-clock temperature control. The efficiency of these modules means they can be powered with basic adapters or dedicated power supplies for extended use.Versatile for Many ApplicationsWhether you’re cooling electronics, creating a mini-fridge, or experimenting with temperature-sensitive setups, this set offers endless possibilities. The three modules allow you to tackle multiple projects simultaneously or keep replacements on hand for future needs. They’re perfect for anyone looking to build custom temperature-controlled environments on a budget. In summary, the ALAMSCN 3 Sets TEC1-12706 Semiconductor Refrigeration Thermoelectric Coolers are an affordable, versatile, and powerful solution for compact cooling needs. With reliable performance, easy integration, and low power consumption, these modules are ideal for DIY enthusiasts, hobbyists, and anyone working with temperature control projects. Highly recommended for efficient, flexible cooling solutions!

4.5 "yay's" and 0.5 "meh's" given
The technical- @9.4V and 1.7A, cold is 55-60*F and hot is easily 180+*F.The good- Heat sinks work, fans work, 2/3 Peltier plates work. For $15, I can live with a dead plate. The bad- As at least one other person noted, the heat sink and fans are woefully undersized. The thoughts- These are designed for 12V DC. Someone else noted that they fall into a heat death spiral at 12V, which I wholeheartedly believe. I'm using a half-dead car battery that is staying steady at 9.4V with one plate and one fan running. The cool side hovers somewhere around 55-60*F, with the heat sink hot to the touch. Seeing as how these run based on a temperature -differential- and not an actual -set- temperature, it's important to ensure sufficient hot side cooling in your design to achieve lower cold temps. So, nearly overheating while running at a lower voltage than intended while achieving nearly room-temperature "cooling..." yeah, the sink and fan are undersized. Flipping the voltage to get heat, the hot side quickly hit 180*F, which is when I disconnected it. It is important to note that these temps are with the system unloaded. Meaning, I don't know what the actual "work" temp is when trying to keep something hot or cold. I filled a jar lid with water, and the water is about the same temp as a water cooler. No heat experiments yet.Takeaways and recommendations- This set offers good value for money just to experiment. For cooling, a bigger heat sink and fan are absolutely necessary, and are readily available. For heat, there will need to be a sufficient load (to absorb the heat) to keep the plate from burning up. Tomorrow, I will be running these things through a PWM knob to see what happens at around 7.4V, which is my most probable system voltage at this point.

Crap
Not worth it get the real kit. Don't waste time on this weakness

Mini fridge
I have a "Mini fridge" that I have had for years. I stopped using it for about 6 months. When I started to use it again, it didn't cool at all. I found these and they were a perfect replacement for the one that was in the fridge. I am very happy with them and the temp is very cold in the fridge now.

Its okay
Most of the parts are great, the tec1 doesn't seem to be cooling anything so its lacking in that aspect. You might have better luck. It has great heating ability if you base the item performance on that. It's a fair price.

Bad Design Who Knew?
Spent hours of testing to finally realize this heatsink is not capable of removing 10% of the energy this chip is capable of generating. The tiny fans are a joke, push or pull does not matter. Even with a HUGE fan, 10x the air volume, the wussy little heatsink can't do the job. It was an experiment, but it was carefully instrumented with voltage, current and temperature on both sides of the junction. Don't waste your time with this setup. The Peltier module is OK but the rest is a mismatched joke. An expensive and time consuming joke on me.

Works, but missing fan mounting screws
Does what it claims -- neat little devices for demonstrating solid-state thermoelectric cooling.Minus one star for not including mounting screws for the fan, necessitating a scavenger hunt.
