Amazing
At the time of purchase this cost me just under 10 pounds (9.73 to be precise) and arrived in 2 days along with my monitor (With FREE Super Saver Delivery - this was a pleasant surprise). The wireless USB adapter comes with a stand, I suppose it's being called a "cradle" which you can plug the device into, and then plug into the USB port for ease. Also, if you are plugging the device in directly, the head of the device is quite big so it may just block of the USB port next to it.On the bright side, the solution of the cradle was convenient and visually pleasing as well. My talktalk wireless hub/rotuer is situated downstairs in my house, and while I am upstairs, I usually get 4-5 bars (out of 5) so I am quite pleased with the wireless adapter. It does not hinder speed or increase lag, as I ran a speed test just now and got a downlink of 15 mbps (megabits per second) and a ping/latency of 27 ms, which goes as low as 7 at times.Inside the box is a small DVD which has the installation setup and necessary drivers. Very simple to run, however the manual was a little misleading as it told me to pick a model number that was not even listed! Outdated, I suppose. However, you need no expertise to pick the model for which you are willing to install drivers as I believe there are only 4 options with images, easily differentiated from one another without any need to look at the model number or text. Just to confirm, I did have a look at the model number TL-WN722N and matched it with the option in the setup.I have to say, it works like a charm. Overall, I am very pleased with this device and I would definitely recommend it. Priced very reasonably, I see no reason to hold back or opt for another USB adapter.

Impressed
Ok, first off, I've got to admit anybody who had a problem installing this product on Windows 7 must had been doing something majorly wrong..!!I got a small Acer Revo in my living room acting as my media PC, running Windows 7 64bit home premium. Nice little machine, but to be honest, it's in built wireless network adapter has never been up to much. My router/hub is located up stairs along with 2 other wired PCs. On average I get around 35 Mbps download internet connection from my wired PCs, whereas the Acer was only giving me around 4 Mbps. Ok, not too bad I'll grant you, but still quite a difference. The main problem was the transfer speeds across my LAN. Between my wired PC and the Acre I was getting around 8.8 Mbps writing and 13.1 Mbps reading. Between my 2 wired PCs 43.2 Mbps Write and 33.1 Mbps Read. Yeah I know these levels can change each time you run a test. The thing that annoyed me was I could get a write speed of around 27 Mbps between my wired PC and my daughters wireless laptop, also located in the living room.Duff wireless adapter on my Acer, I thought.I had 2 options:Either, run a network cable down to my Acer... I feared for my marriage at this prospect.OrTry one of these "high gain" adapters.Saw how cheap this one was and thought, "Why not."The build quality is fine as far I'm concerned. The only slight niggle (hence the 4 stars), is if your USB ports are very close together, like they are on most PCs, if you plug the adapter in direct it would block the port next to it. Luckily, and I feel this might have been an after-thought on TP-Link's part, they have included a USB extension cable.Plugged it in and Windows downloaded and installed drivers for me automatically. Didn't need the included drive disc.2 words of advice:Even though it doesn't ask for it, you are best doing a reboot once the drivers are installed.Second, if like me you've got another wireless adapter installed, make sure you disconnect this adapter from the network after installing the new one. My system was still trying to use the original adapter by default after installing the new one.So far I've seen a big improvement. My internet connection speed has gone from around 4 Mbps up to 18.4 Mbps download and 5.4 Mbps upload. My wired to wireless connection speed has gone from 8.8 Mbps writing / 13.1 Mbps reading up to 25 Mbps writing / 26.7 Mbps reading. All in all very happy. And at this price it was a godsend as far as I'm concerned... and the marriage is still intact :)

Well-made, Windows/Linux-friendly, good performer, and cheap-as-chips!
I bought this to replace an ageing Belkin 54g USB adapter that was starting to fail through general wear-and-tear and hard use.First impressions are good. It appears to be sturdy and solid. It worked instantly out of the box, when plugged into a Linux computer (KUbuntu 12.04LTS), with no configuration, driver installing, or firmware-downloading.I rebooted into Windows XP and inserted the driver CD. I liked that I was able to select between "driver only" and "driver plus utility software" in the installation program. Whilst some people might appreciate the card's own management software, I don't want unnecessary rubbish cluttering my PC, so I opted for the "driver only" installation, and used the standard Windows network connection dialogues to set up my network. It connected instantly and I've had no "go-slow" periods, connection-dropouts etc. since.Range is very good; I can pick up the wireless networks of people who live across the road and down the street from me. Speed is also quite good. My old adapter was capable of 54Mbps, but would connect to our router at around 24-48. This TP-Link adapter connects to the same network at 65Mbps under Windows, and 72Mbps under Linux. It's too early to discuss durability, but initial indications are good. It looks very well put together and currently functions very well, so fingers-crossed (and an update will follow here if it turns out to be rubbish).

Easy to use, does what it's supposed to, works both Linux and Windows 11 pro. Only one downside is that the USB is a bit chunky if you got USB ports on one side too close together then it's a bit tricky to use both USB ports at the same time as wired mouse etc. Covers a bit the other USB port. WiFi signal was great and picked up wifi connections further than built in laptop adaptor
