Good phones but product description incorrect.
At this price these 'phones are a bargain. Sound is great, they feel quite substantial and have plenty of padding to exclude external sound. I bought them to replace a Sony pair where the jack plug had been bent and despite bending back into place, when plugged in sound only came out of one speaker. The cable was much longer than this item, but for my purpose it was too long and got in the way. I tested them out last night on various music videos and was happy with the sound quality. So why have I dropped a star? Quite simply because the product description is incorrect. It states that the connection is via a 3.5mm headphone jack. NO IT ISN'T. It's a quarter inch jack, and if you look carefully at the product picture you can see that it is. I therefore had to spend another few quid buying a quarter inch to eighth inch (i.e. 3.5mm) jack plug adapter, so despite the fast delivery I had to wait a couple of days before I could use them. I'm not too concerned about the jack size because I also use headphones to plug into my guitar amps, which invariably use quarter inch sockets. But I also have a Yamaha SLG (silent guitar) which has a 3.5mm socket so with the adapter I have full flexibility (not that I needed it since I already have eighth to quarter inch adapters). So, good buy but do note that the product description is incorrect and you'll get 'phones with a quarter inch jack plug. Update: well I discovered quite accidentally that my claim that there isn't a jack plug is incorrect. After inadvertently catching the cable, I discovered that the quarter inch plug was actually an adapter for the jack plug. In other words they've actually included the means to attach the headphones to either a quarter inch or jack socket. So fair play and apologies for not realising.

Great headphones for the price
I love these headphones. Great price. Good sound quality and they seem quite well made. They suit my simple needs very well. Cable length of over 2 metres with an adapter for 2 jack sizes. Ear padding is thinner than some I have seen but that is fine for me.

Superb value.
What a bargain,i got these for 7 quid, they fit nicely, and come in a nice well packaged box, hard to believe it only cost what it did really, sound quality isn't as amazing as a 40 or 50 quid one but that's just nitpicking, these are superb value and when you take it out of the amazon parcel it looks like a 30-40 pounds product.Volume control is good, size is ideal for your ears, design looks like a far more expensive headphone, and not too heavy either.

2 jacks supplied - good quality & well recommended.
Seems to work perfectly. Not happy with the review that stated the kit only came with a 1/4” jack plug, to find that it has an integral 3.5mm jack with female-to-make adaptor to 1/4” jack. Discovered that within 30 seconds of first use. Delighted - excellent sound quality & I suffer a degree of deafness in both ears.

nice headphones
The sound quality is fine. I listen to spoken word (podcasts, radio) and songs from my mp3 player whilst dogwalking. Its flex is much bigger than ones I've had before so let's hope that means it's stronger & less likely to break . The top of the device, where it goes over my head, was tight and uncomfortable but (nervously) I gently pulled it and made it bigger.

Here's a quick review from a professional audio engineer, record producer and keen listener. So why am I bothering with sub-$20 headphones at all? Read on... I paid $16 CDN for these. The purchase was a complete gamble, just a bit of fun I put in to "top up" an order. I have owned a pair of Behringer 3000 headphones that have done (and are still doing) sterling service for over ten years. They are not the best-sounding headphones by any means, but fine for quick audio checks. I couldn't resist these HPM1000s at the price, since I wanted another set of cheap headphones sitting about for plug-in and testing duties. Well, I'm amazed. Let me first say that when testing audio I always EQ the feed from my player to create a frequency-balanced sound to start. Almost no headphones available have a 'flat' frequency response, at any price, so I give them a helping hand! I know that's not a true test of these as they are supplied, but if you are able to do the same, they are a remarkably nice-sounding headphone at the price. Naturally rather too dark-sounding; lift the highs above about 2kHz and you'll be rewarded with good detail, surprisingly accurate mid's and a very musical listening experience. The bass frequencies are nicely balanced, and go low, with a decent amount of dynamics. Imaging is very good. Joni Mitchell's DJRD is sounding very enjoyable...in fact the drum kit entry towards the end of Paprika Plains has just surprised my with it's impact and depth! Build quality is fine for the price, but I'm sure they wouldn't withstand too much abuse. A screw-on 1/8 to 1/4 adapter is supplied, and a non-detachable sturdy 2 metre cord. Very lightweight, too. Not much spill from the closed-back design. If you need a set (or a few sets) of cheap headphones that are going to be treated well and live an easy life, I've not heard better than these at less than $40. I think they might be a good fit for TV listening, too. I suspect that the EDM "bassheads" might be disappointed, however. Remember, these are cheap, probably quite delicate, and will sound too dark unless you have EQ available. I also only tested one set, so I have no idea what the quality control is like, and hence the consistency between sets. I think I'll be buying another set soon, though. If only I could have bought a pair of headphones for the price of three beers when I was starting out in audio! These are golden days for gear... I hope this has helped someone, and happy listening!
