7inch x 7inch x 1 inch. The little feet that hold it up off the ground are a further 1 inch high.

Can this attract rats and mice?

Does this feeder have Any sharp metal bits on the edges please?

Yes they do, which I will add in my review shortly. Where the mesh meets the top rim, both trays (2 bought) had sharp (mesh) edges on them that could severely injure a bird, if not yourself! Before I dispose of them, I'm going to try to attach a plastic sliding bar, used for plastic folders and cut to size; this should, in theory, cover the top edges securely. I've ordered a cheap pack today.

Is the mesh soft - like if you prod it it moves, or hard and rigid?

this is not a soft mesh, it is a solid mesh.
