Another very nice item from Victorinox
I received this item a few days ago and have been playing with it since. First I should make clear what this is, this isn't a "fighting knife" it's a swiss army knife which are designed for utility. This knife has: - A one hand openable locking Main blade partially serrated with a smooth rectified sine wave coming to a rounded point and a thick spine. - A locking wide flat head screw driver with bottle opener and wire tool. - A can opener with small flat head screw driver. - A saw with two sets of out of phase sharp teeth. - A phillips head screw driver. - A reamer. Good points: - Ergonomic design sits nicely in your hand. - The nylon grip with rubber inserts provides a great feel in your hand and decent grip. - Simply excellent build quality. - The one hand mechanism doubles as a thumb guard/grip. - Easy to open with one hand. - Locking main blade. - Locking flat head screw driver/chisel. - The phillips head screw driver which can be held in the corkscrew position to prevent cam out. Bad Points: - The lack of a finger guard on the underside of the main blade means it's easy to cut your thumb if you finger slips when opening with one hand. - Very difficult to sharpen/hone the main blade sue to serrations. - Hard to clean the saw. - Difficult to unlock the main blade with your right hand only, due to the direction you need to push to unlock it. Overall I think this is an excellent knife, if you don't need a main knife, or if you already have one then this is a great second knife. Personally I'm very happy with this item, and would recommend others to buy it. It's not cheap, but it is worth it.

fantastic folding knife
Quality is really superb, from the thickness of blade to the mirror finish on all the metal parts, really does feel it will last a lifetime. I've collected interesting knives for a lot of years and have dozens of Victorinox pocket knives, this really is one of their best. The rubber composite handles give a very practical and contemporary feel to the grip, and are very practical. Not perfect though, yes it will open one handed, but get the elastoplast out if you intend to try close it with your right hand only , the locking bar need a left handed push over, (designed by a leftie?). Also the serrated top two thirds of the blade will stay shaper longer, but are not so easy to sharpen when needed. In reality though, how often do you have to open/close a knife one handed, very minor gripes against the overall quality of the item. As others have pointed out, both the locking mechanism and the length of the blade make this an illegal carry in public, I bought it none the less , both for the superb design and quality, but as a useful addition to my toolbox. If you want a legal carry pen knife, go for the previous model soldier with alox handles , there are numerous internet outlets still selling the Victorinox model. (...and yes it "looks" the same as the Wenger variant sold on Amazon, albeit without the keyring, but I have both models and the Victorinox has a better finish- and yes I know Victorinox and Wenger are the same company- I've been there - but have a look, they are different!)

Quality
Big eyelet and serrated blade is a good choice IMO gets less blunt but trickier to sharpen. I wish Ihad gone for the corkscrew version.

Can't belive i forgot to review it yet!
Had this knife for almost a year now, I didn't sharpen it yet so can't comment on that, I've used the knife to cut few very thick ropes and blade sliced all of them no problem.Very easy to open it even whilst wearing gloves. Not a big fan of serration,I would much prefer smooth blade due to very time consuming sharpening procedure (own other knifes with serrations). Flat head screwdriver is very sturdy, beefy looking, you can really put some pressure on it.I use it as a prying tool more than as a screwdriver but it helped me more than once to unscrew old stubborn rusted screw on my car. It's also lockable. Saw is extremely efficient,it's longer compared to other Swiss Army knifes, very aggressive looking. It's still sharp to this day. Phillips screwdriver is not really made to screw all day long, I think is made of softer metal because it deformed a bit after screwing some screws, it's ok to tighten loosed screw here and there. Can opener,reamer/puncher - least used tools but they work well. Ps I'm ambidextrous and have no problems opening and locking it with either hand but i agree it's easier to open and lock with left hand - I love it !!

A solid pocket knife
I've really enjoyed owning this knife. It's sturdy and very useful around the house. If you read about it you'll know its got a liner lock on the blade so it's illegal to carry with you unless you have good reason, i.e. use it for work, so bare that in mind if you are looking for an everyday carry item. There's a good assortment of tools, a saw, blade, can opener, bottle opener flat head screw driver and phillips head. The steel they've used is high quality and after much hand holding still is in great shape My only comment would be I wish the blade was not serrated and had a sharper point. The serrations make it a pain to sharpen and the point of the knife is not sharp at all, its more rounded so it can make opening boxes and the like a bit of a pain. I'd definitely recommend it, but again just bare in mind it's not an EDC knife. If you don't need the other tools and are just looking for a knife however, go for something that is just a knife. You'll get something more suitable.

Solid, all-round swiss army knife. Single handed blade opening with liner lock, legit wood saw, locking flathead/light pry tool, functional awl and Phillips head on the back. For the functionality, weight, price, size and quality, these are great. I’m used to relying on a plain edge but the combo edge on these make it incredibly versatile, and they’ve put the serrations in the correct place, towards the tip of the blade. For those used to pocket clip carry, grab a cheap suspension pocket clip and you’re set. If you’re in need of a working knife, with some extra tools to boot for edc, this is it!
