Good book, good guidance
I have previous edition, and use often, in my opinion the easiest way to loose weight using guidance written.

When I ordered the book, I thought it would be filled with all of their recipes. Rather it was how to diet what to eat what not to eat etc.

Mostly basic dietary information with mediocre recipes
I was somewhat disappointed with this book. I was hoping for more insight and a better guide to eating plans and better recipes.The information in the book is pretty much the same info that you can get anywhere on food nutrition and good eating habits. The main focus is on being aware of portion sizes, and how much from each food category (Vegetable, Fruit, Carb, Protein, Fat, etc.)Overall, the way the diet works on a point system per food category (Vegetable, Fruit, Carb, Protein, Fat, etc.) is interesting and helpful, as long as you stay within the recommended serving sizes.The diet is split into 2 phases: Lose It (2 weeks) & Live it. I was disappointed the Lose It phase didn't give specific menu plans for the first 2 weeks. It gives general habits to do and not do, but not real specific guidelines on what and how much to eat during this phase. I actually read that part twice to make sure I didn't miss anything.They do provide a lot of 7 day weekly eating plans, but I believe they are for the 2nd phase. The recipes are not that great and the photos of them don't always match what is described in the recipe.Overall I think the diet's philosophy is sensible and works if you can stick to the small serving sizes. I just think the book could be better.

Great inspiration.
Needed a kick in the as.. to get myself in gear and commit to change. Always knew what I needed to do, guess I needed more confirmation that a lifestyle change was needed. This coupled with the Journal redirected me.

AT LAST!
I did very well with Edition #2 and have been patiently waiting for #3—And it’s here. Been reading and it is truly updated with current popular items and recipes. So far the only thing I’ve noticed missing are the numerous Protein drinks on the market which my Doc encourages but I’ll figure out how to count it.I highly recommend the Journal. It’s a pleasure to use it. Definitely order them together.
