I got this to replace using a hot water bottle, and it's great, without the risk of scalding.It gets hot on setting 3, but not quite as hot as a hot water bottle, which is perfect for me.The pad is soft, feels well made, and I've had no issues with it so far.I put it behind my lower back for cramps, which works as well as a hot water bottle, and better than those microwavable rice bags. On particularly cold nights I place it underneath me to fall asleep an it keeps me toasty.

Really pleased with this item - it does exactly what it says and has a lovely comforting warmth which is ideal for a bad back. Thank you.

Simple to use. Three settings - 3 is quite hot, 2 is good, 1 is more warm. Goes off automatically after 90 mins. Cord is not super long but ok - 236cm. total; 160cm, to the control. There is a good inch round the edge of the pad that does not get hot because of the way the wires run, and the button where the cord attached to the pad sometimes gets in the way slightly, so you have to reorientate the pad. But overall it works really well. I use it most evenings.

I already have one of these (the same make) and found it really effective at reducing my pain. So bought this one for my mum who suffers with severe back pain. She’s really pleased with it and it’s helping with managing her pain. Great that it can be machine washed if needed. Considered others but they had up to ten settings on them, but that’s really not necessary. Three settings are sufficient I think and easier for my mum to manage at 82.

I have used the Beurer mats for a while now. They are fabulous for aches and pains and can be moulded to fit round a hip etc. They have a 3 heat setting and will only stay on for 90 minutes at a time before needing a reset. If you disconnect from the mains you can wash the pads as well. I bought this one for my mother in law, but this is my third one; I have one in my travel bag, one in my lounge and now this one at the in-laws. My first one is easily 10 years old. Fully recommend.

UPDATE: I jinxed myself 😅 I have revised this to one star because as much as these are perfect when they work, they break so easily. I've had about 5 and I'm down to one, a replacement sent by the company. Even following all the instructions, they inexplicably die and it's such a waste of money for materials. I hope I can find another model that can actually survive without permanently breaking.PREVIOUS REVIEW:I have chronic pain from several different conditions and have been using hot water bottles for many years. Unfortunately the newer ones seem to wear out and burst very easily, so I thought I would try one of these instead. I've been using it for a few weeks now and have found it really brilliant and soothing. No more making hot water bottles (or getting soaked!) - you just switch it on and it heats up super quickly. I sleep much better and it's so great to be able to switch it back on if I wake up in the night feeling cold or in pain. I hope this lasts a long time because it is my new favourite thing!

For over five months I have had a bad aching lower back, in fact sometimes inconsolable. Whilst using a 'heated in microwave' bead pack there were times when it helped, but every 30 mins I had to go out to kitchen and stick it back in the microwave. The Beurer HK Comfort turned up today, I'm sitting here now with 'instant' back relief, I'm actually stunned by the effect it has and the temperature it reaches on level two, let alone level three. 10/10 for this product so far! Also, it turns off after 90 mins, great safety feature, buy it and discover what it can do for you!
