The manufacturer displays a health & safety “Quick Response code” on the plastic magnet container which is advisable for the end user to read especially children who may be attracted to it. (Pardon the pun). It does state that magnets with a force of three 3kilos or above are extremely dangerous in the wrong hands, and two together if ingested could be life threatening. I personally think this magnet has sufficient power to use around the house with a force of 1kg. Health & Safety has definitely taken priority when you see how well this magnet is protected with a durable thick plastic case & metal keeper attached, very thoughtful indeed when storing away. The magnet weighs 78.8 grams without the keeper or cover. The horse shoe style & colour is traditionally very appealing but I would say a word of warning avoid dropping the magnet on a hard surface due to it’s style it may brake.

I sometimes like to walk around barefoot indoors, and, after a couple of recent spillages of pins - and on other occasions wondering where on earth a needle might have got to - I thought it would be a good idea to acquire a nice strong magnet to effectively deal with such hazards. This nice-looking little magnet (75 x 39 x 8mm) is perfect for the job. It is small but chunky, and with a good strong "pull" on the poles. (It is also a great educational 'toy' - kids will love seeing what they can do with it, while learning about magnetism.) The product details don't seem to mention 2 useful things: 1) that it also comes with a thin metal "keeper" to place over the poles when not in use, and 2) it is supplied in a fairly strong, clear plastic case. These should prevent any mishaps when not in use, eg. if it was accidentally stored near electronic equipment or items such as cassettes etc that are magnet-sensitive. Excellent quality product, recommended.

The magnet in the photos is much bigger than what I received although in fairness the dimensions are stated. However it was the magnetic strength that just seemed much weaker than the stated 1kg. I have a magnetic game where the pieces have a much stronger magnetic force even though they are smaller.
