These work very good for small oil spills, I use them mostly for a pad to clean my carburators on or anything else I have to disassemble on the bench

The media could not be loaded. These are quite a bit thinner than I expected but for the price I got what I paid for so I'm not mad. That being said they work pretty decent. I would buy again when I run out.

Decided to try these pads for a project in which I had to absorb food-grade cosmetic oil and retain it. I poured the oil on the pad and it literally beaded up and rolled right off and onto the floor. You can even see in the picture the pads just float on top of the oil. I thought maybe it was a fluke but before I went to try again I cleaned up the spill, afterwards I wiped the area with a damp rag. Figured id clean the leftover water with the pads since they were already close by and guess what…it wouldnt absorb water either. Im thinking ok? Maybe it only absorbed hot oil so to test I heated up some oil to pour on and to my unpleasant surprise it completely disintegrated. Real cotton (filtered or not) would absorb anything, and not just disintegrate with hot oil. These pads are FOR SURE synthetic, I dont know what they are made of exactly but definitely not real cotton. Now im left with a whole bunch of useless pads that wont absorb water or oil (unless I accidentally spill a 5 gal jug of cold olive oil).TLDRPads are DEFINITELY not real cotton and disintegrates from hot oil.
