Feel like this works a treat however the pills are really big so not recommended for anyone who struggles with swallowing pills

So I don't usually write reviews on here but this product works so well this is my 4th buying it so I thought I might as well just review it. It's gonna be long tho. I used to suffer from cold sores from the moment my mom gave them to me and it has always been a struggle. They would show up often enough to be a real problem but not too often so I never figured out a way to fight them in time. I tried all sorts of stuff from creams and patches to literal cloves of raw garlic pressed against my lip. I don't know how I got to try lysine but I read somewhere it helps so I got it and oh my god. Not a single sore in years! If you are a regular sore enthusiast then you know the tingly, warm feeling you get when one is about to appear. This is exactly when you take a pill! And if I do something super adventurous like (god forbid) eat one spicy wing, then I act double the strength and take one of them pills + put some sores cream. I keep a case in my pocket anywhere I go. Works wonders. I know it might not work like that for everyone, but try cause it might work like that for you. Also lysing helps absorb calcium so even if you still end up with a sore, you will have bones strong like a horse. And yeah, the pills are quite big but you can break them into smaller bits if you're prone to choking.

Good quality L-Lysine I believe, it does the trick for me I take one a day for my cold sores and it keeps them at bay :) have been using this brand for about a year now and no issues

I've been using Nature's aid supplements for several years. Compared to many other other brands I've taken, they're high quality and do the job. They're made in the UK by a serious, established company to GMP standards, which is essential for me. I make this point because when I was looking at supplements for my latest order, I researched a couple of the cheaper products. Company address and accounts at Companies' House (public domain). For example, one of the brands on here looks very stylishly packaged and there are persuasive claims about the supplements in that range. I couldn't get to the bottom of where they were made ...So I went hunting. Turns out that the 'company' has one employee at an obvious home address and a balance of + c.£1000 on his 'company's' statement to Companies House! Looks like the guy's running a small import business from his bedroom and who knows where he's getting his products from... Have to say I was rather concerned. When it comes to our health, I believe we really do need to take care about what we put in our bodies! (I hope my research is useful for buyers here.) So, 90% of my supplements continue to come from Nature's aid! I take HALF a tab of Lysine at bedtime several times a week. For one thing I'd read that it's effective if you have sleep problems and I can definitely confirm that. It also helps to lessen the effects of stress apparently. It's also claimed to help lower blood pressure. Secondly, research shows that it's effective against most viral infections. After a couple of bouts of Covid my immune system was battered and I found I was picking up a lot of minor colds. I believe that this supplement has at least reduced the length of any infection I get -and probably seen off most infections altogether. The third thing is that my protein intake is on the low side so I reckon that Lysine is a good addition. I would have given Nature's Aid Lysine 5 stars except that the tablets are crazy big and difficult to swallow. So that's why I chop them in half. Bit of a faf. . C'mon Nature's Aid! You can fix this!

Before I started taking these 5 months ago, I’d usually get a cold sore every couple of weeks. Started taking one of these every day and haven’t had a cold sore in over 5 months. Deffo work for me!

Good price easy to swallow

Taking 1 whilst my cold sore was in full on nasty gunky mode, definitely helped. The next day it was significantly smaller, like it had healed considerably overnight. However, the physical and mental torment that came with swallowing such a massive pill is hard to contend with. It really is huge. I felt it go down my throat and then briefly get stuck there as I had to swallow it down harder. It was, as I say, mentally just as horrid as it was physically, to feel it stuck there. You could not pay me any amount of money to take these tablets as a preventative measure on the off-chance that I’d get a cold sore without them. They are too big. But they do work against cold sores even when they’re at their worst.

Ich bin so glücklich, dieses Produkt entdeckt zu haben! Ich bekomme leider in letzter zu oft (zwei mal in einem Monat) Herpes an den Lippen und mein Arzt meinte, es läge am schwachen Immunsystem und Stress. Nach eigener Recherche bin ich auf Lysin aufmerksam geworden. Neben VitaminC+Zink Tabletten nehme ich diese auch täglich ein. Ich habe dennoch ein Herpes bekommen. Am selben Tag habe ich gleich 3 Tabletten auf einmal genommen (zur Kur kann man bis 3000 mg pro Tag Lysin einnehmen). Schon am nächsten Tag war der Herpes fast WEG! Gar keine Schwellung mehr, es ist nur noch ein kleines kaum erkennbares Bläschen übrig. Ich bin sehr begeistert. Nachdem der Herpes abgeheilt ist, werde ich wieder nur eine täglich einnehmen. Beachte: Lysin ist nämlich der Gegenspieler von Arginin und wir brauchen beide Säuren im Körper. Daher nicht auf Dauer mehr als eine Tablette empfohlen.

Habe schon einige L-Lysine Kapseln bei Amazon bestellt, diese gehören aber meiner Meinung nach mit zu den besten. (Siehe auch: Produktübersicht ganz unten!) ! ! Nicht geeignet als Nahrungsergänzung für Schwangere / Stillende. ! ! ! ! Ich rate übrigens auch dringend davon ab, Lysin (egal welchen Herstellers) als dauerhaftes Nahrungsergänzungsmittel zu nutzen. Langfristig können negative Begleiterscheinungen wie Haarausfall etc. auftreten, da das natürliche Vorkommen von Aminosäuren aus der Nahrung zu stark (einseitig) beeinflusst werden kann. Für Vegetarier und Veganer geeignet, ebenso für Menschen, die beispielsweise Herpes beim ersten Anzeichen wie Kribbeln / britzelnden Lippen optimal vorbeugen möchten. Allgemein auch zur Stärkung der Immunabwehr. **** Zum Produkt: Die stabile grüne Verpackung fasst 60 Tabletten mit je 1000mg L-Lysin (1269mg L-Lysin Hydrochlorid). Vergleichsprodukte weisen meist 450-600mg L-Lysin auf, „blenden“ den Kunden aber mit der Angabe pro Tagesportion (3-4 Tabletten) und weisen dann 2000mg aus. Dies wäre aber zur Dosierung ohnehin nicht optimal. Die größeren Tabletten sind gepresst und nicht extra in eine Kapselhülle, d.h. beim Schlucken ausreichend Flüssigkeit zuführen. Außerdem kann es passieren, dass sie bei Luftkontakt sich irgendwann etwas weniger appetitlich mit Gelbstich zeigen. Auf Farbstoffe, die z.B. auch mit Verdacht auf krebsauslösend oder aktivitätsbeeinflussend gekennzeichnet sind, wurde hier im Gegensatz zum Gall Pharma Konkurrenzprodukt ebenfalls verzichtet. 60 Tabletten sind enthalten **** Zu Lysin / Zur Herpesvorbeuge: Lysin und Arginin sind zwei „Gegenspieler“ im Körper mit verschiedenen Aufgaben. Beim Wachstum, Zellteilung und Wundheilung ist sie als essentielle Aminosäure tätig – das heißt, dass der Körper sie nicht selbst herstellen kann und von außen, über die Nahrung, zugeführt werden sollte. Bei einer Überdosierung können Blutgerinnungsstörungen und Blutzuckerschwankungen auftreten, daher sollte man auch im Akutfall niemals zu viele (etwa bis max. 4 Gramm pro Tag nützlich + sinnvoll) einnehmen. Für leidgeplagte Herpes-Besitzer: Am Besten verzichtet man während kritischen Phasen auf Nüsse (besonders Mandeln), Zitrusfrüchte oder generell sehr ARGININ-haltige Lebensmittel. Die Herpesviren brauchen Argining gewissermaßen zur Bildung ihrer Bläschen. Durch den Zusatz von Lysin kommt es zu einem sehr geschwächten Ausbruch oder bleibt komplett aus. Koffein gilt es ebenfalls nach Möglichkeit zu vermeiden. Stress, starke Sonneneinstrahlung oder andere „kränkende“ Umwelteinflüsse sind ebenso als Herpesauslöser bekannt. **** EDIT MAI 2016: Zum dritten Mal in Folge bestellt und sehr zufrieden. Die Packungsgröße reicht mir sehr lange, da ich immer nur bei bevorstehenden Ausbrüchen, also unmittelbar präventiv, darauf zurückgreife. **** EDIT JUNI 2017: Aktuell ist unter den Amazon Topsellern ein gutes Konkurrenzprodukt erhältlich. Allerdings sind die Produkte von ihren Inhaltsstoffen (und Trennmittel-Zusätzen etc. recht ähnlich). Im Übrigen wird bei den Natures Aid Lysin-Tabletten unter den Inhaltsstoffen hier "Leathin" aufgeführt, welcher für mich etwas irreführend war. Hierbei handelt es sich aber um einen kleinen Fehler laut Auskunft durch Natures Aid: „Lecithin”. **** EDIT AUGUST 2018: Mittlerweile kein 5-Sterne Produkt mehr. Vor einiger Zeit haben die Tabletten noch um die 9€ gekostet, mit etlichen Preisschwankungen finden wir immer häufiger Preise um 12-13€. Diese haben einerseits eine bessere Größe (leichter zu schlucken), werden in DE produziert und sind sinnvoll verpackt, sowie verhältnismäßig günstig in der Großpackung.
